New photos of movie star turned director Ben Affleck have emerged, and fans are concerned.

The actor, 51, is famous for three things: his successful career, his enduring love affair with pop icon Jennifer Lopez and his exasperated facial expressions.

Maybe four things, his long running friendship with Matt Damon is also a remarkable fact that everyone loves.

The Oscar-winning director frequently becomes a meme because of his grumpy facial expressions, but now fans are concerned by his lack of facial movement.

Alongside a slew of celebrities, including comedian Kevin Hart, Affleck appeared at NRL player Tom Brady’s comedy roast special for Netflix.

Affleck looked dapper in a suit, but online people claimed that his face looked surprisingly different.

People online were quick to comment on it.

One remarked, “he’s had so much Botox. His face just doesn’t move,” and the comments continued.

Someone claimed he was “hard launching” a “new face” at the roast, and another wrote, “what happened to Ben Affleck’s face?”

Affleck, in true movie star fashion, has yet to address the concerns online but has spoken previously about his resting ‘I’m over this face.’

In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel in 2023, Affleck said that he happens to have a very “unhappy-looking resting face,” but that just because he looks sad doesn’t mean he is having a bad time.

Once Affleck started dating his ex, Jennifer Lopez, again in 2021, the comparison between their facial expressions quickly became comical.

While Lopez has always had big smiles or purposeful pouts on the red carpet because she’s a diva who knows how to work a photo opportunity, Affleck would accompany her, looking more withdrawn than thrilled.

Comically, they’d attend events together like a fancy primer or head off to the Grammys, and she’d be all smiles, and he’d look more stoic.

Affleck’s expressions were so studied that it led to rumours that their relationship was in trouble because he didn’t look happy in the Paparazzi photo, but Affleck squashed those rumours firmly on Kimmel.

“That’s how God made me. You don’t have to punish me for it,” he joked.

To prove his point, he even did a demonstration of what his resting face looks like when he is content or amused. Besides a slight tilt of his head, his expression remained the same.
