Natalie Portman has been spotted without her wedding ring as she returned to Sydney amid reports of her husband’s affair with a younger woman.

The Oscar-winning actress, 42, was photographed taking a solo stroll along Sydney Harbour on Friday ahead of her appearance at the Opera House for the Angel City Equity Summit that evening, which was held in support of the US Women’s Soccer League team she co-founded, Angel City FC.
Portman, who lived in Australia with her family to film Thor: Love and Thunder for several months in 2020 and 2021, was not wearing her engagement or wedding rings during the outing, which comes two months after reports emerged her husband of 11 years, Benjamin Millepied, had an extramarital affair.
The Black Swan star’s visit comes as Australia and New Zealand co-host the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, in which two Angel City players, Julie Ertz and Alyssa Thompson, are representing the US.
Portman co-founded Angel City FC in 2020 – the largest majority female ownership group in professional sport – with a three-part documentary series called Angel City currently streaming on Binge.
Her outing sans wedding ring has raised eyebrows following reports Portman and Millepied were attempting to repair their marriage in the wake of his alleged affair.
In early June, French magazine Voici went public with allegations Millepied had been spending time with 25-year-old environmentalist, Camille Étienne, which Portman was reported to have found out about in March this year.
“In early March, the star of the Star Wars saga [Portman] discovered that her husband was having an affair with a young woman,” the magazine claimed.
The magazine also published images of Millepied and Étienne going into his office separately on May 24 and exiting ten minutes apart, almost two hours later.
Just two days later, on May 26, Portman and Millepied were photographed kissing at a Beyonce concert in Paris.
“They have not split and are trying to work things out,” a source told Page Six in response to the cheating report.
“Ben is doing everything he can to get Natalie to forgive him. He loves her and their family.”
Portman and Millepied have not publicly responded to the allegations.
The couple met in 2009 on the set of her Oscar-winning ballet movie Black Swan, for which he did the choreography. They got engaged in 2010 and married at Big Sur, California, in 2012.
The couple share two children, Aleph, 12, and Amalia, 6.
