The unexpected marriage between an A-lister and a normal guy has shocked the internet – but we should have seen it coming.

Singer Lana Del Rey has shocked the internet by marrying an ordinary bloke, but the signs were there.

The 39-year-old crooner married Jeremy Dufrene, a Louisiana local, who was previously a captain for a local tour boat company that explores local wildlife, including alligators.

He is such an alligator fan that his Instagram profile, which is now sadly set to private, has a photo of him hanging out with an alligator.

There’s not much known about Dufrene because he is so normal.

It has been reported, though, that he is in his early forties, has two children, and used to work at a chemical plant.

So, how did he meet an A-lister? Well, she went on one of his swamp tours, and the rest is history. Now, they are married.

Grainy photos of the couple confirmed the nuptials, and while details are hard to see, Del Rey is leaning into her normal life.

She married Dufrene in Louisiana by the body of water on which he conducts his swamp tours. If that isn’t a sign of love, I don’t know what is.

Everyone’s surprised by the marriage, firstly, because she only publicly revealed the romance a month a go. Secondly, because it is not every day your favourite celebrity marries a normal man who likes to wear baggy shorts on the weekend.

When photos of Del Rey walking down the aisle in a white dress started floating around on X, people were thrilled and in disbelief.

“Didn’t she meet this man yesterday?” One asked.

“I’m over the moon,” another shared.

“Is this real?” Another asked.

We shouldn’t be surprised, though, because even though it was very sudden, some recent photos revealed what was about to happen.

Last week, Del Rey was seen hanging out on Dufrene’s porch with him in quite the domestic scene.

The two were just chilling out, dressed casually and looked like any other couple, getting some fresh air and having a chat.

The photos were also a bit comical because, despite the relaxed scenes, the house was also surrounded by flash flooding, which no one seemed concerned about.

Besides the whole natural disaster issue, the most noteworthy aspect of the photos was that Del Rey was wearing a glitzy ring on her left ring finger.

She wasn’t attempting to hide it as she tapped away on her phone, and all signs are now pointing to the ring as an engagement ring.

So the fact they have now tied the knot shouldn’t be a huge shock.

Although it is fun to imagine what on earth they talk about? Her setlist and his love of pointing out alligators to nervous tourists?

Previously the sheer randomness of Del Rey even dating a tour guide captain from Louisiana completely thrilled her fans on social media.

“Dude looks like most of my friends. Good for them,” one wrote in the comments of a TikTok.

“Dad’s for the win,” another commented.

“I feel like this relationship is so healing for her,” another suggested.

“Looks like a hardworking man! Happy for them both,” someone else wrote.
