Lana Del Rey ties the knot in secret wedding at a Louisiana swamp

Grammy nominee Lana Del Ray has married her swamp tour guide partner in a low-key ceremony just off a highway in Louisiana.

Lana Del Rey has tied the knot with her partner just one month after first revealing their relationship publicly.

The couple exchanged vows just off the highway at Des Allemandes, Louisiana, where her husband runs his alligator boat tours.

In new photos and videos obtained by The Daily Mail the singer, 39, can be seen being walked down the aisle by her father, Robert Grant.

The small-scale ceremony and reception were held along the public harbour, with numerous tables set up under a handful of modestly sized white tents.

Del Rey confirmed rumours that the pair were together after they were first seen holding hands in England last month.

The couple then attended pal Karen Elson’s wedding, where they were joined by Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, among others in attendance.

The singer and the boat captain from Louisiana have known each other for several years. Del Rey posted pictures with the Dufrene on Facebook as far back as 2019 after taking one of his wildlife tours.

In August, during a performance of Chemtrails over the Country Club, Del Rey changed the lyrics of the song to: “He’s born in March and I’m born in June”, potentially referencing his birthday, which is thought to be March 21, 1968. That would make him 58, if correct.

Dufrene is a father of two and works as a tour guide at Arthur’s Air Boat Tours, a small business based in Des Allemands.

When he’s not busy giving swamp tours, the tour guide spends his days feeding alligators, to whom he fondly refers as his “Cajun yard dogs”.

His Instagram is filled with videos of him fearlessly interacting with the bayou’s wild inhabitants and enjoying Southern pastimes like crab boils and bonfires with his family.

Dufrene previously worked at a chemical plant but found his true calling as an airboat captain.

Del Rey was previously engaged to singer Clayton Johnson, whom she met on a dating app, but they called off the engagement in 2021.

She has also been rumoured to have had flings with Salem rocker Jack Donoghue and, most recently, musician Evan Winiker.

The sheer randomness of Del Rey’s dating a tour guide captain from Louisiana has completely thrilled her fans on social media, who seemingly approve of the romance.

“Dude looks like most of my friends. Good for them,” one wrote in the comments of a TikTok.

“Dad’s for the win,” another commented.

“I feel like this relationship is so healing for her,” another suggested.

“Looks like a hard-working man! Happy for them both,” someone else wrote.

While Del Rey is relatively private when it comes to her dating life, she previously opened up about what she looks for in a potential partner.

Speaking to Rolling Stone in 2014, the singer said she has “an affinity for really good, strong, self-assured people”.
