Iggy Azalea reveals bold new red hair after ‘blackfishing’ controversy
Iggy Azalea has stepped out for the first time after the internet accused the Australian rapper of ‘blackfishing’ in her new music video.
Iggy Azalea recently found herself caught up in another scandal, with the internet accusing her of blackfishing, or trying to pass herself off as another race, in her latest music video.
But the star was all smiles over the weekend, as she turned heads in Hollywood with a bold new look at the launch party for her new perfume Devil’s Advocate.

The Australian rapper revealed striking, eye-catching red locks – which she teamed with a black and red scoop neck bodysuit, featuring panelling slits on either side. She paired the outfit with black boots and accessorised with red sparkly earrings and red nails.
The 31-year-old posed alongside models dressed in a variety of red devil costumes and spoke to several partygoers during the exclusive event. The star also shared several pictures and videos to social media.

It comes after Azalea found herself in hot water with some accusing her of blackfishing.
Viewers noticed something about the rapper’s appearance in her video I Am The Stripclub — specifically her skin tone. Azalea, who normally has light blonde hair and is naturally quite fair-skinned, looked darker from head to toe. The look included long, straight black hair.
The response on social media to Azalea’s allegedly darker look was not a good one. It was a tweet from the clothing brand, boohoo, showing Azalea’s music video look and claiming that she was “serving” that really sent people.
“Serving what? Appropriation and brown face?” one Twitter user responded. “Blackfish. That’s what she’s serving,” another wrote.
The term “blackfish” suggests a non-POC is attempting to look or act like someone of Black or Arab descent.
One viewer said, “But it just so happens she’s imitating a black female aesthetic surrounded by a bunch of black people in the background.”
The rapper responded to critic, calling their claims “ridiculous and baseless.”
“ I’m wearing a shade 6 in armarni foundation, it’s the same shade I’ve worn for the last 3 years,” she tweeted.
Azalea also recently weighed in on Britney Spears’ conservatorship case in a statement on Twitter, opening about about what she witnessed when the pair worked together on a 2015 duet.
“During the time we worked together in 2015, I personally witnessed the same behaviour Britney detailed in regards to her father last week and I just want to back her up and tell the world that: She is not exaggeration [sic] or lying,” she wrote.
“I saw her restricted from even the most bizarre and trivial things: Like how many sodas she was allowed to drink. Why is that even necessary?”
“Her father conveniently waited until literally moments before our BMAs performance when I was backstage in the dressing room and told me if I did not sign an NDA he would not allow me on stage. The way he went about getting me to sign a contract, sounded similar to the tactics Britney spoke about last week in regards to her Las Vegas show.”
“Britney Spears should not be forced to coexist with that man when she’s made it clear it is negatively impacting her mental health.”
