Hugh Jackman’s fans have thanked him for sharing a very muscular mirror selfie in the wake of his recent transformation.
Hugh Jackman has shared a very muscular selfie in the wake of his transformation for the new Deadpool & Wolverine movie.
The Aussie actor, 55, showed off his toned arms and abs in the photo shared on Instagram, which he captioned, “I am grateful” – and his fans echoed the same sentiments.
“Hugh we are also grateful,” one commented, while another chimed in, “Yes, Hugh. Me too. I’m also grateful.”
“I need ten more of these photos, thank you very much Hugh,” another wrote.
Accompanying the sexy selfie was a 4-minute voice note from Jackman thanking his team for helping getting him into optimal shape for the blockbuster, which also starred Ryan Reynolds.
“I’ve had a lot of people who talk to me and ask me questions about how I got into shape,” Jackman said in the voiceover.
“What I did, what I ate, how I trained, how hard is it at your age? Just wanted to take a second and say, yeah I had to turn up, I had to do those deadlifts, I had to eat those meals but I had an incredible team who helped me. There’s no hope in hell I would have gotten there without them.”
First he thanked his personal trainer Beth Lewis, who has been his PT for the last five years and helped him shape up for this role among other projects, such as his stint on Broadway in The Music Man.
“She always was present, thoughtful, kind, and then when it was time to push me she could push me,” Jackman said in the clip.
“Beth, you really were the quarterback for this whole thing, and I am beyond grateful that I have you supporting me on these journeys that I’m on.”
He went on to thank his longtime friend and trainer Michael Ryan and “the people who helped me eat right, because for a year I didn’t have to think about what I was shopping for and cooking.”
The actor also praised his makeup artist, Whitney James, for helping make his muscles “glisten” even more on the big screen.
“Whitney, my makeup artist, was called to put on some kind of oil to make my skin glisten,” Jackman said.
“You would hear [director] Shawn Levy yell out, ‘Fresh lube on Hugh!’ Everyone would laugh.”
