Deborra-Lee Furness’ blunt message after Hugh Jackman split
The Aussie actress has been spotted wearing a very telling T-shirt, just a few months on from her shock split from the Wolverine star.
Deborra-Lee Furness has offered up a very blunt message in the wake of her split from longtime husband, Hugh Jackman.
The Australian actress, 68, was spotted in Bondi wearing a “Sh*t Happens” T-shirt on Sunday following a brunch at iconic eatery Bill’s Cafe.
Furness, who is based in New York City, arrived back in Australia last week ahead of the premiere for her upcoming movie, Force of Nature: The Dry 2, which co-stars Eric Bana and Anna Torv.
Her appearance Down Under comes just months after she and Hugh Jackman left fans reeling with news of their shock split.
The former couple announced their separation after 27 years of marriage in a joint statement released in September.
“We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,” the statement read.
“Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.
“Our family has been and always will be our highest priority.
“We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness.
“We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives.”
Jackman and Furness met in 1995 on-set of ABC TV production, Correlli, and married the following year in Toorak, Victoria.
News of their split came as a huge surprise, with the duo long considered one of the strongest pairings in showbiz.
Jackman gushed over Furness for their 27th wedding anniversary last April in a sweet social media post.
“I love you Deb. Today is our 27th wedding anniversary. 27 YEARS!!” he wrote alongside a loved-up photo.
“Together we have created a beautiful family. And life. Your laughter, your spirit, generosity, humour, cheekiness, courage and loyalty is an incredible gift to me. I love you with all my heart.”
