Singer Christina Aguilera has stunned fans with her extremely youthful appearance in a video shot during her recent Australian visit.
Aguilera, 42, was in the country last week to perform a one-off gig in Melbourne, and took time out during the Aussie visit to film a behind-the-scenes video revealing what’s in her handbag.
But it was her appearance that fans were most interested in: The mum-of-two barely looked a day older than the teenager who burst onto the scene back in 1999 with the debut single Genie In A Bottle.
The video, shared on Twitter by a fan account, has been viewed more than 1 million times, attracting hundreds of comments from fans amazed by Aguilera’s new look.

A sample of the comments underneath the post:
“She looks like she’s in her 20s!”
“Mama looks incredible. I’m hypnotised.”
“How the hell does she look like this?”
“OK she looks totally different. Is it just me, or does anyone else think the same thing?”
“What is going on with celebrities that look younger and younger??? what are they drinking?”
Others questioned whether Aguilera was using some sort of face filter in the clip.
Meanwhile, Aguilera didn’t let pouring rain stop delivering at her first Australian concert in 15 years last Saturday.
She took to the open-air stage at Flemington Racecourse to belt out her biggest hits, including Genie In A Bottle, Beautiful, Fighter and What A Girl Wants.
Before the show, she told news.com.au why it had taken her so long to return to our shores: “Life gets busy and piecing together a schedule can be complex,” she said. “I promise it’ll be worth the wait!”
Next year marks 25 years since Aguilera released her self-titled debut album.
“Twenty-five years allows me the opportunity to reflect on the music, my growth and the amazing journey during that time of spending incredible moments with my fans worldwide,” she told us of the upcoming career milestone.
“There have been so many amazing moments. It’s impossible to pick only one, but since there’s nothing like the first time – I would say winning the Grammy for Best New Artist was such a thrill at the time. I was a newcomer and baby to the business. You can never repeat that category, so it’s one that I especially cherish.”
Supporting Aguilera at the show were local pop artists Jessica Mauboy and Natalie Bassingthwaighte – the latter was supported backstage by her new partner, weeks after publicly revealing she’s in a new same-sex relationship.
