Beloved Aussie TV personality Catriona Rowntree has rocked a swimsuit on camera despite her anxiety hitting the “next level”.

The Getaway presenter is currently on location filming the long-running travel show in Sri Lanka and the assignment required her to strip down to her swimsuit for a surf lesson on camera.

Although the thought of being filmed in her bright blue swimwear was daunting, the 53-year-old was up for the challenge at the seaside resort town of Hikka.

“Nothing puts the fear of God into a woman, well me, more than the term ‘surf lesson’, (aka swimsuit on camera to millions of judging people) even at 23 this would up my anxiety, so now at 53 it’s next level,” she captioned a photo on Instagram of herself looking stunning as she posed on top of a surfboard.

The star says her anxiety was through the roof as she needed to be in a swimsuit for the shoot.

“But here we are, on camera in Sri Lanka, giving it my all. Guess what? I stood up, for a solid 6 seconds, enough for the @getaway cameraman Steve to say ‘yep, we got it’! Anyway, lots of fun (and anxious moments for me to resolve) here in Hikka.”

Nevertheless, the star looks sensational in her latest Instagram post. Over the years, she has learned to stay fit and healthy through incidental activity as she “totally hates” exercise.

“It’s really a decision to be active every day, this is coming from someone who is allergic to exercise,” she joked to Body+Soul in 2018.

“I totally hate it, but I love the little endorphin buzz after.”

While hour-long cardio sweat sessions aren’t her thing, she does try to incorporate enjoyable ways of moving “after a shower every morning”.

“A beginner’s cha-cha class on a cruise, a walk around the deck, a polo class at home (believe it or not), walk the stairs where I can, ride my old bike around the farm, and maybe even 20 minutes in a gym if I can find one,” she shared.

“I’m not obsessive, but conscious of making a positive choice on a daily basis.”

Ultimately for the mum-of-two, it’s about balance and being realistic.

“Here’s the thing – I live on a farm, I’m a working mum, I don’t live in some fantasy world of Yoga class three times a week. I just do what I can, when I can,” she added.

“If it’s not fun, I’m not interested. If it’s too hard I probably won’t show up, and if it involves dressing up I’m most certainly in.”
