Gordon Ramsay has announced his wife Tana Ramsay has given birth to the couple’s sixth child.

The celebrity chef, 57, and his wife, 49, shared the first photos of their newborn in hospital on Instagram, surprising fans around the world.

The couple, who married in 1996, managed to keep Tana’s latest pregnancy a secret.

Fans were even more surprised to find out the chef and the newborn share a birthday.

“What an amazing birthday present please welcome Jesse James Ramsay, 7lbs 10oz whopper!!” Ramsay wrote in his Instagram post.

Tana Ramsay also shared her own post on her Instagram, adding a cute snap of the moment older brother Oscar met his new sibling.

The couple already share five children — Megan, 25, twins Jack and Holly, 23, Matilda, 22, and Oscar, four.

“It’s been a nerve wracking nine months but we’ve made it and we have been blessed with this little bundle,” Tana wrote.

“Jesse James Ramsay we love you so much.”

Fans have been quick to flood the posts with congratulatory comments.

“Wait what? That’s awesome! I’m so happy for you all!” one shocked user commented.

“Gosh you kept that under wraps!! Congratulations.”

Celebrity friends were quick to express their joy, including fellow chef Jamie Oliver who wrote: “Wow super mum congratulations!”

Hugh Jackman commented: “Congrats mate!” while Victoria Beckham added: “Congratulations xxx we love u all xx.”

Ramsay hinted at his wife’s pregnancy back in September when he appeared on the Dish podcast.

“I’ve got a little secret… Tana wants another one,” he confessed.

The celebrity chef admitted he was under pressure from his wife to have a sixth child, but said he wasn’t on board with the idea.

“It’s two minibuses. It’s like going to school, going out for dinner in two buses,” he joked.

Six appears to be the lucky number for the Gordon family, as Tana shared the “Ramsay family definitely complete”.
