Blake Lively reveals ‘adulthood’ revelation in deep post about female friendships
The actress has shared a series of photos with Taylor Swift and Beyonce – revealing an “adulthood” revelation she had about being a woman in Hollywood.
Blake Lively has revealed it took her until “adulthood” to discover the truth about being a woman in Hollywood.
The US actress, 36, shared a series of photos on Instagram with Beyonce and Taylor Swift at the Renaissance: A Film by Beyonce premiere in London on Thursday, writing a deep post about how females share an “instinct” to support each other, despite societal pressures that suggest otherwise.
“When I grew up, women were always pit against one another,” Lively shared.
“It took me until adulthood to see that the instinct for women to lift each other up to their highest potential is the norm, not the exception.”
She continued: “Most of my best friends are women who would’ve been packaged to me as threats or competition.
“It’s our job to show younger generations the power in aligning rather than dividing.”
The mother-of-four finished off her post with her trademark humour, adding, “All this to say, @beyonce and @taylorswift neither of you have to be threatened by my pop stardom. There’s space for us all.”
It comes after Beyonce set the internet alight after attending the premiere of Swift’s The Eras Tour concert film in October, with her fans remarking how the pop icon rarely makes public appearances.
Let's be clear, Beyonce doesn't go to anybody's anything. They probably have a stronger relationship than we will ever really know. https://t.co/eNnL9TS9iX

At the time, Swift honoured the Cuff It singer in a gushing Instagram post thanking her for showing up.
“The way she’s taught me and every artist out here to break rules and defy industry norms. Her generosity of spirit. Her resilience and versatility,” Swift wrote.
“She’s been a guiding light throughout my career and the fact that she showed up tonight was an actual fairytale.”
Despite being in the middle of her Eras Tour in South America, Swift returned the favour for Beyonce’s concert film premiere in London last week.
The Anti-Hero singer referred to Beyonce as “The Queen” in a post on Instagram, as she urged her 277 million followers to go see the film in cinemas.
“Got invited to London by The Queen … Renaissance: A Film by Beyonce is in theatres now!!,” Swift wrote alongside several photos from the event.
Renaissance: A Film by Beyonce chronicles the star’s most recent tour, the record-breaking Renaissance show.
It began in Europe in May and concluded in Kansas City in October.
