Asher Keddie and her family have reportedly been embroiled in a terrifying home invasion at their Melbourne property.

According to the Herald Sun, the TV star spotted the intruder wheeling a Ducati motorcycle away from their St Kilda home early on December 28. He had reportedly already stolen the keys to the vehicle from inside the house.

The publication reports that Keddie told her artist husband, Vincent Fantauzzo, who ran outside and challenged the burglar, which led to a physical altercation.

A witness to the drama reportedly jumped in and helped Fantauzzo restrain the intruder until police arrived.

A Victoria Police spokesperson confirmed the incident to the Herald, stating that the offender “was disturbed by the occupants while allegedly in the process of wheeling the Ducati motorcycle into the street”.

“It is understood a male occupant restrained the man, with assistance from a passer-by, until police arrived,” the spokesperson said.

“The four occupants of the property and the witness were not injured.”

Police also confirmed that a 44-year-old Altona man had been arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated burglary, theft of motor vehicle, trespass and unlawful assault.

He will face the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court later this month.

Keddie and Fantauzzo first met in 2012, tying the knot two years later, with Keddie giving birth to their first child together, Valentino, in 2015.

Fantauzzo also has another son, Luca, 13, from a previous marriage.

The Strife actress opened up about how they first met in a candid interview with Marie Claire in 2023, describing how she was convinced by her agent to let him paint a portrait of her.

She said that while photographing her during a preparation session, he would pop his head above the camera to lock eyes with her.

“He still does that eyes above the camera; he’s very charming,” she told the publication.

“But what we enjoy most – and I know we both feel like this – is sharing the parenting. I love that feeling of togetherness we have in parenting them and being part of their lives.”
