ABC reporter Tony Armstrong clears up reports he’s joined OnlyFans

Days after going viral for an X-rated blooper, rising ABC star Tony Armstrong has cleared up reports he’s behind a brand-new OnlyFans account.

UPDATE: False alarm, Tony Armstrong fans - the man himself has confirmed the newly-launched OnlyFans account set up in his name “for charity” is definitely not connected him.

Just days after the beloved ABC sports reporter went viral for making an X-rated slip-up during a broadcast, it briefly appeared today that he’d launched an OnlyFans account.

The account’s first post reads: “Welcome to my OnlyFans. Good vibes only. I‘ll be posting a couple of times a week. All profits til the end of the month will go to RCD Foundation which raises funds for brain cancer research.”

For $US4.99 per month, so far the account offered fans a couple of candid at-home selfies of Armstrong. The bio teased that it’ll be “delivering you what you didn’t know you needed ;-)”

But suspicions were raised when Tony himself hadn’t acknowledged the OnlyFans account on either his public Twitter or Instagram pages, with the announcement instead coming from fellow journo Osman Faruqi on Twitter today. However, the OnlyFans account did come complete with a verified ‘tick’.

News.com.au approached the ABC to ask if Tony was definitely behind the account - but in the meantime the man himself confirmed on social media that no, he has nothing to do with the account. Sounds like some nefarious Catfisher is capitalising on Australia’s currentTony-mania.

OnlyFans has been in the news in the past month after the platform, which has fans pay a monthly fee to access exclusive content from performers, reversed its decision to ban sexually explicit content. The website hosts a range of content from everyone from chefs, fitness instructors and musicians. However, the most popular content is adult content and pornography.
