Abbie Chatfield has fuelled rumours she’s dating Peking Duk musician Adam Hyde as she confirms she’s in a new relationship
Abbie Chatfield has dropped a huge clue as she announces a new relationship, hinting she may be dating a popular Aussie musician.
Abbie Chatfield has revealed she’s in a new “really healthy” relationship.
Speaking on her tell-all podcast It’s A Lot, Chatfield spoke through tears as she described her new boyfriend.
“It’s actually the most important thing that’s happened to me, dating-wise,” she said.
“I cry every day because of how happy I am.”
Chatfield has given a huge hint her new boyfriend is popular Aussie musician Adam Hyde, one half of DJ duo Peking Duk.
Her producer said she was already “soft launching” Hyde, with Abbie replying by laughing, saying “No we’re not. The caption said “friends” in capital letters”.
One of her latest Instagram posts features her dancing with Hyde, with the caption reading “Fun Grand Prix w FRIENDS”.
Fans have jumped on the hint, taking it as a confirmation of Chatfield’s romance with Hyde.
However, the podcast host is yet to confirm the rumours.
Choking up during Tuesday’s episode, Chatfield said “nothing is too big of a problem” with her new partner, describing how supportive he is of her PTSD and feelings.
“He’s just been the kindest, most supportive person,” she said.
“It’s like he’s opened up a whole new world that I can see that like things aren’t always going to end badly, and not just romantically.”
She added her new partner has a great sense of humour, almost to the point of injury.
“I almost pulled my back multiple times when I’m with him because I’m laughing so hard,” she said.
Chatfield confirmed her new relationship is monogamous, and will likely stay that way for “a few more months” after being in open relationships in the past.
“I am really not in a position to be in an open relationship right now because of how traumatised my brain is,” she said.
“I need to feel like fully focused on. I was really scared to tell him because I was thinking he would want to be open, and open only.
“I think monogamy is going to happen until, like, a few more months.”
She added her new relationship is the first time she’s felt “safe”.
Hyde is known for forming Peking Duk alongside friend Reuben Styles.
The electric music group began in Canberra, 2010, and have since amassed more than 445 million streams (as of 2022).
The duo is best known for their song “High”, which won the ARIA for Best Dance Release in 2014.
