Kim Kardashian named ‘GQ Man of the Year’
The billionaire reality star has managed to accomplish yet another feat no one expected from her.
Kim Kardashian is GQ’s cover star for its annual ‘Men of the Year’ special.
The reality TV personality, 43, took to social media to declare, “I’m the GQ Man of the Year!”, as she shared a series of male-inspired photos from the December/January issue spread.
GQ, a popular men’s magazine, has previously named the likes of Chris Hemsworth, George Clooney and Tom Cruise for the top honour, making Kardashian’s crowning an unprecedented move.
There’s been mixed reaction to the announcement on social media, with several users expressing their disbelief over Kardashian’s newly-minted title:
Kim Kardashian is your Man of the Year??? Be serious for a damn second. https://t.co/uQFsyVHpoc

Iâm sorry. Sheâs doing great things but get Kim Kardashian off the cover for Man of the Year. That couldâve waited until the next issue. #dmvzone@MarinaMarraco@JoeClair

Kardashian’s latest career feats comes shortly after her lucrative shapewear company, Skims, ventured into menswear by signing a partnership deal with the NBA, becoming the official underwear supplier for the sport.
Speaking to the glossy, Kardashian credited her late father, US celebrity lawyer Robert Kardashian, for instilling a strong work ethic in her, which she endeavours to pass onto her own four children, who she shares with ex-husband Kanye West.
Singling out her daughter North, Kardashian revealed the 10-year-old was taking initiative to make her own pocket money, via a lemonade stand she sets up on their Hollywood Hills street.
“She gets a huge pitcher and fills it, puts it in her wagon, and goes down to the corner,” Kardashian said.
“She has a table and chairs and fans to keep herself cool. She makes signs. She stays there hours and hours. Her friends help, so she splits the money with them.
“If a random person stops, she will charge them only $2.
“If she knows you, she will fully scam you. I’ll get calls from my friends saying she charged them $20 for a lemonade. She’ll grab their $20 and say, ‘I don’t have any change.’”
Kardashian has defied critics for years, surpassing expectations and cementing herself as one of pop culture’s most influential figures over the past decade.
In 2022, Forbes estimated Kardashian was worth a whopping $US1.8 billion, thanks to her various businesses, including Skims and her cosmetics and skincare lines.
That’s a huge jump from 2012, when she was said to be worth around $US40 million.
