Ruby Rose rocks plunging black suit on MTV EMAs red carpet
IT was a huge night for Ruby Rose, who co-hosted the MTV EMAs European music awards with Ed Sheeran.
ED Sheeran is facing a busy night, acting as host, nominee and performer as the music and fashion industries light up Italy’s fashion capital of Milan for the MTV EMAs European music awards.
Aussie actress and model Ruby Rose will be joining him in the hosting seat after confessing that everything that can go wrong did go wrong before the show.
“It’s EMA day ... 7am 3 hours sleep and there’s no turning back now,” she wrote on Twitter, adding on Instagram: “I hear when everything goes wrong in rehearsal, the show goes perfectly.”
Pharrell Williams is the lead performer at the award ceremony, joined also by Justin Bieber, who is up for six awards, Ellie Goulding and newcomer James Bay, among others.
Williams, Sheeran and Bieber will be vying for the best male vocalist award, along with Jason Derulo and Kanye West. Taylor Swift leads all artists with nine nominations, including for best female vocalist. She is up against Goulding, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj and Rihanna.
New Wave rockers Duran Duran are being honoured with the first-ever MTV video visionary award honouring music video pioneers. MTV said ‘‘their distinctive style has had an undeniable impact on music history.”
The awards ceremony travels to a different European city each year and winners are selected by fans across the continent.
The EMAs will broadcast live on Monday, October 26 (AEDT) on Foxtel’s MTV channel.
