Logies 2017 red carpet: Best and worst dressed celebrities

SYLVIA Jeffreys has laughed off claims made about her Logies gown, and revealed a secret detail about it that everybody missed.

Stunning looks on the Logies Red Carpet 2017

IT was a daring year of thigh-high splits and plunging necklines at the 59th TV Week Logie Awards.

TV sweetheart Sonia Kruger opted for a rose pink approach to the trend, while NRL Footy Show host Erin Molan took a vampier approach in sparkling black sequins.

Pop princess Delta Goodrem wore a bold red Steven Khalil gown with a split bound to turn heads, while The Project host Carrie Bickmore stepped out in shocking mulberry.

The annual awards took place at the Crown Entertainment Complex in Melbourne.

Presenters on the night included 800 Words star Erik Thomson, singers Dannii Minogue and Tina Arena, and radio hosts Hamish Blake and Andy Lee.

Many celebs taking to Instagram to give a sneak-peek of their outfits prior to the event.

SYLVIA LAUGHS OFF DRESS DRAMA

Jeffreys has laughed off comments made about her Logies dress and revealed a secret detail everyone missed.

She told Karl Stefanovic, Lisa Wilkinson and Richard Wilkins that a “few people were in a flap” over her outfit, after social media users claimed it looked like a part of the female anatomy. Some posted on social media they thought it looked like a vagina, while others disagreed.

She was in hysterics as she attempted to describe what people had said about the dress, and just left it at saying there were “unflattering comments” were made.

She then revealed it was made out of left over fabric from her bridesmaid dresses.

Jeffreys chose to wear a plunging pink gown by Rebecca Vallance, the same designer who made her wedding dress that she wore when she tied the knot with Peter Stefanovic. She went solo as her new husband was on assignment with 60 Minutes. But it didn’t stop her from celebrating her 31st birthday in style.

BEC JUDD’S RACY LACY GOWN

Rebecca Judd was out early in her J’Aton couture gown which is a stunning combination of red and pink lace.

AMBER FROM ‘JACKETGATE’ WEARS WHITE

Amber Sherlock has arrived wearing none other than a white dress by Jason Grech.

Sherlock made international headlines when footage was leaked of the Channel Nine newsreader chastising her colleague Julie Snook for wearing a white jacket during a live TV cross.

Sherlock had asked Snook to change jackets earlier in the day, and was enraged when Snook appeared still wearing the original white jacket.

The incident was dubbed #jacketgate with the controversial footage making it to the Jimmy Kimmel show.

“I didn’t have any other option, Ben,” said Sherlock, when fellow Channel Nine star Ben Fordham commented on her choice of colour.

GOLD LOGIE NOM JESS IS SEXY AND SHEER

As the only woman in the running for the Gold Logie, Jessica Marais channelled Beyonce at the Met Gala as her style inspiration and opted for a dangerously sheer gown by J’aton Couture.

ERIN BLINGS WITH HER NEW RING

The NRL Footy Show host Erin Molan chose a sequined black gown by Karen Gee which she offset with her sparkling new engagement ring.

In a red backless gown by Steven Khalil, The Voice coach Delta Goodrem offset her racy dress with a dramatic up-do.

SAM’S SEXY ONE SHOULDER GOWN

The breakfast TV wars may be fierce but Sunrise star Sam Armytage looked the picture of calm classy perfection. Armytage opted for a vivid blue Solace gown with a sophisticated up-do.

CARRIE WOWS IN MULBERRY

The Project’s Carrie Bickmore chose a vibrant gown by Paolo Sebastian. The designer is a favourite for the star who wore a gown by the same label in 2014.

Her co-host, Waleed Aly, who took away the Gold Logie last year is again a nominee for the coveted gong. He said he had little hope of taking the award home for a second year.

When asked where he would put the gong if he won he said, “I don’t think that will be a problem.”

She’s dazzled us on the Logies red carpet for decades but this year is particularly special for Kerri-Anne Kennerley.

After 50 years in television, KAK is expected to be inducted into the Logie Hall of Fame, acknowledging her status as television royalty.

KAK will accompanied by her husband John, who will be making his first trip down the red carpet after he was left a quadriplegic after a freak accident last year.
