Crown star Emma Corrin baffles with unusual Emmys outfit

The Crown’s Emma Corrin has stunned fans with her quirky choice of outfit for the Emmys — with a number of people mocking the look online.

Emma Corrin has made an unusual statement at the Emmys, rocking up to a celebration in London wearing a lemon yellow gown complete with a matching bonnet and black claw-like fingernails.

Corrin, who is nominated for their portrayal of Princess Diana in the Netflix hit The Crown, donned a look from the Miu Miu ski collection, which many on social media likened to a costume from The Handmaid’s Tale.

The 25-year-old British star’s headwear and long fingerless gloves certainly turned heads on the carpet, leaving fans divided as they flocked to social media to make their observations.

One compared the outfit to a combination of Where the Wild Things Are and The Handmaid’s Tale, while others applauded the bold choice.

Others simply couldn’t get enough of their fierce nails.

Noting the quirky get-up on their own Instagram profile, Corrin called it “Crucible realness”.

Corrin’s stylist, Harry Lambert, also shared a picture of Corrin on the red carpet writing, “Ooooo hi.”

In April, Corrin came out as queer on social media, calling herself a “queer bride” as she shared a picture from a photo shoot for Pop magazine.

The actor then edited their Instagram bio to include the pronouns “she/they”, and detailed early experiences of chest binding with a topless photo sharing the “journey” around it.

“Some time before I bought my first binder … very intimate, very new, very cool,” Corrin posted on Instagram.

While her portrayal of Princess Diana has thrust her into the spotlight in recent years, Corrin will also be starring in upcoming queer drama My Policeman alongside Harry Styles.

Emma attended to the Emmys party at Soho House in London with The Crown co-stars Gillian Anderson and Olivia Colman, who won supporting and lead actress in a drama series respectively for their work in the series.

The Prince Charles to her Lady Di, Josh O’Connor, attended the ceremony in Los Angeles. He also scooped up an award for the night, winning lead actor in a drama series.
