WHEN Sophie Monk hit the stage to present the first award at the 2017 ARIA Awards on Tuesday night, everyone was waiting for her to address her romance with Stu Laundy.

For weeks now, the former Bachelorette has been belted by rumours ranging from marriage and pregnancy to claims her relationship with the millionaire publican is all an act for the reality TV cameras.

After taking a jab at her own success in the music industry (“I’m so happy to be here at the ARIAs even though I’ve never won one”), she decided to tease fans with some “news”.

“It’s a special day because Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have announced their engagement so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to tell you all that ... Um ...” she said, pausing as viewers wondered if she was really about to reveal the news she was hinting at.

But instead of announcing an engagement, she decided to roast her boyfriend over the fact he’s still married.

“ ... Stu is still married,” she deadpanned as the audience laughed.

When it was announced Laundy would enter The Bachelorette as an intruder to try win Sophie’s heart, it was revealed he is still finalising his divorce settlement four years after his wife Rachel instigated a separation. The pair share four children.

The revelation — which he told Monk on the series — drew criticism and confusion from some fans.

Monk, 37, stunned on the red carpet at the Sydney event earlier in the afternoon. Arriving with Laundy on her arm, she sent a strong message to those questioning her romance.

Asked by a throng of waiting journalists, she was quick to snuff out any speculation.

“We can’t escape it — there’s always a different story,” she told The Daily Telegraph of the rumours. “We’re in talks for a TV show. We’ll have a big announcement in the future and it’s not pregnancy!”
