With the End of Financial Year sales promising big savings, eBay has kicked off the shopping season, giving customers the chance to save money on their grocery shop.
As part of the first eBay Plus Month, from now to June 30, shoppers can get free delivery for orders over $49 and a five per cent discount when they shop at Coles via eBay. On offer are a broad range of fresh food, pantry, health, beauty and household staples, from pet food to smoked salmon, in addition to weekly specials offered by the grocery chain.
The only catch is that you have to be an eBay Plus member. Although the membership will cost you $49 a year, new members can sign up for a 30-day free trial.
When it comes to prices, customers may notice a slight higher or lower difference between the prices listed on eBay when compared to their local shop. This is because products on eBay are priced nationally whereas prices in-store can differ depending on state and local supply.
Despite this, all Coles "Own Brand" products will cost the same.
There will also be “spend and save” offers from June 1 to 14 on all eBay Plus items, with shoppers who spend $100 saving $10, $500 saving $50 and $2000 saving $200. This will be continued throughout the month with 20 per cent off select eBay Plus items from June 15 to 30.
“We know the last couple of months have been tough on Aussies financially with an estimated 46 per cent of household incomes affected,” said eBay Australia’s Sophie Onikul.
“We’ve also seen less time spent browsing the site with shoppers more decisive and planned in their purchases.
“We’ve also seen a conscious effort from eBay shoppers to support homegrown businesses during this time.”
