Travel Tuesday: Jetstar, Myer, Oaks, Luxury Escapes

The cooler months are officially here, and for those seeking a flurry of adventure we've got good news as flights to New Zealand for winter have fallen as low as $407 return.

Now that the warmer months are behind us, powder hounds will no doubt be looking forward to the beginning of ski season. In response, Tourism New Zealand has released a stack of deals to get us exploring The Land of the White Cloud for less.

Inspired by A Minecraft Movie, the itineraries range from short stays to roadtrips, but for those who love a little snow action, it's the ski holidays that really sing.

Starting with flights, they've got Jetstar fares down as low as $407 return for peak winter dates. That's July 20, 2025 to August 31, 2025.

These are fares will get you to Christchurch, Auckland and Wellington, however if you'd prefer to plonk yourself right in the heart of the action, flights into Queenstown are also available on Virgin Australia from $615 return. And yes, that's for winter dates as well, from July 20, 2025 to September 15, 2025.

Once there, you can save up to 25 per cent on ski holidays with seven-night packages down to $759 per person. And since you are crossing borders, if you love to make the most of duty free right now you can earn one Qantas Frequent Flyer point per $1 spent at Lotte Duty Free. What can we say? We love a good points earning opportunity.

Now, if you'd prefer to stretch out those summer days, Oaks has released a Stay More, Play More sale on Queensland and NSW stays that can set you back as little as $93 per night. As the name suggests, you'll need to stay for a few days (difficult, we know). For midweek holidays that's at least three nights and for weekend breaks that's at least two nights.

Luxury Escapes also has a few sunny gems up its sleeve, including up to 51 per cent off Reef View Hotel packages on Hamilton Island, up to 58 per cent off Sofitel Gold Coast Broadbeach stays and up to 53 per cent off all-inclusive stays at Ayodya Resort Bay in Nusa Dua, Bali.

In terms of luggage, there's loads of bonuses going on right now. As part of their Mother's Day celebrations, July is offering free personalisation and Monos has a free gift when you spend $300 or more.

By the numbers Antler has one of the biggest deals with up to 50 per cent off selected suitcases, overnight bags and backpacks. Myer is also bringing in the big numbers with 50 per cent off selected Delsey, Kadi and Monsac suitcases, while The Iconic is slinging half off the Curio 2 in Dahlia (now $199.50) and the Samsonite Upscape 75cm in Stone Grey (now $262.50).
