Coming up on December 2, savvy shoppers should all be across Cyber Monday – Black Friday’s less famous, but no less wonderful, counterpart.
Following closely behind Black Friday, the global shopping event bookends the Cyber Weekend sales that occur each November and sees retailers and brands discount their products significantly.
Since Cyber Monday is so close to Black Friday - this year it falls on November 29 - most retailers combine the sales into one cyber weekend of mega savings.

WHEN IS CYBER MONDAY?
This year Cyber Monday falls on Monday December 2, following Black Friday on November 29.
WHAT IS CYBER MONDAY?
Think of Cyber Monday as Black Friday’s sister. Both sale events occur over the same long weekend and there are always loads of amazing deals to secure.
Some retailers choose to continue their Black Friday offers over the weekend and into Cyber Monday, while others will drop brand new impressive sales to compete with their previous offers.
Cyber Monday initially began in 2005 as the online version of Black Friday, but since shopping online has become the new norm, the two sale events have both made their individual mark on the global shopping calendar.
Ellen Davis, a PR Executive from the National Retail Federation in the United States, first coined the term in 2005. It was noted that after a weekend of window shopping or working, there’d be a huge surge in online purchases – and so, the name has stuck, and its own shopping event established.
