Amazon has discounted the PS5 Slim to $629, and saving you $170 during their Black Friday sales.

While this may still seem like a pretty hefty price tag, gamers can agree upgrades from previous editions make it worth every cent.

Comparing the PlayStation 5 Slim to the PlayStation 4 Pro, one buyer raves about a “huge performance boost” saying “The console starts much faster, games load faster and load screen[s] are also much faster.”

This 2023 model has seen some favourable updates from the original 2020 edition.

One of the best features for gamers is its storage capacity, offering 1TB of internal storage compared to the 825GB in the original PS5.

It will also take up less space, with the PS5 Slim now 30 per cent smaller.

Long-time gamers can also rest easy with the PlayStation 5 Slim’s backwards compatibility. This will let them play their older PlayStation 4 games on the console without a hitch - no need to buy updated versions.

More digitally savvy gamers can opt for the PlayStation 5 Slim Digital Edition, letting them solely play digital versions of games. This model is also now on sale on Amazon for $529 - saving you $150.

Each PlayStation 5 console comes with a Dual Sense wireless controller, which offers adaptive triggers and haptic feedback for a more immersive gaming experience.

You can now buy an extra controller or upgrade to a new colour, with Amazon offering discounts of up to 33 per cent off a range of colours and designs.

For those wanting to up the ante of their gaming, the PlayStation VR2 is a great option. This console lets players experience gaming in a whole new way, entering the world of virtual reality and seeing, hearing and feeling what their characters do.

The VR2 is now on sale for $549 - that’s a 38 per cent discount and a savings of $330.

For an even better deal, the PlayStation VR2 also comes in a Bundle Pack, with Horizon Call of the Mountain included to get playing as soon as you open the box. This edition is now available for $579.95 - a 40 per cent discount.

And if you’re needing some new games to play over the summer, Amazon has got that covered too.

Some of the biggest releases of 2024 have now had their prices slashed. EA Sports FC 25 will see gamers play as their favourite soccer superstar for 55 per cent off, coming in at just $49. They can also take on the Alone in the Dark - a modern reimagining of the 90s horror game - for $47 and save 53 per cent.
