At news.com.au checkout shopping isn’t just our job, it’s our passion.

We can’t get enough of a good sale, plus if we love a product, we won’t stop raving about it.

Here we’ve rounded up all our favourite products we’ve tried and tested lately — our top pick for the week is the Lust Minerals Pro Finish Liquid Foundation.

The Aussie-made makeup buy has over 900 five star reviews and one bottle sells every two minutes. It’s left Shopping Writer Philippa Tonkin raving about its “glowy” finish.

We’re also loving Maison De Sabre’s new The Tall Soft Tote, with Shopping Writer Marina Tatas putting it to the test and find it was both “super luxe” and “high quality”.

Happy shopping!

“I jumped at the chance to try out this foundation after seeing on socials that STAX. co-founder Matilda Murry was a big fan. Not only is it a stellar foundation but it also contains SPF20, hyaluronic acid and is packed full of superfoods too so it works to improve the health of your skin throughout the day.

It offers medium coverage but it’s buildable if you want more or less. For the past few years, I’ve been using fairly light coverage skin tints so I was a bit nervous to try something with more coverage as I really didn’t want to look “cakey”.

But I was so happy with how this turned out. It melted into my skin so well and left a beautiful finish. I’ve worn it both to work and out on the weekend and it lasts so well throughout the day. I love the glowy finish the liquid foundation leaves but if you’re after a more matte look or want even more coverage, you can pair it with the Mineral Powder Foundation too.”

“I’ve been on the hunt for a new work bag for a while now, so I was keen to review the new Maison De Sabre Tall Soft Tote*. Crafted from 100 per cent full grain leather, this bag is super soft, flexible and easy to carry around on my travels. It also looks super luxe, too. It incorporates a self-standing design and while there’s not really any internal pockets for your laptop, it does fit in really nicely and doesn’t lose its shape. I find it super easy to pack this thing to the brim, and considering the leather is so high quality, it never feels like its on the verge of breaking. The internal pockets it does have though are super handy – perfect for my phone, wallet, office access card, Opal card – all the important things that you can’t be bothered to search through your bag for.”

“I hate drying and styling my hair with a passion, so anything I can to do speed up the time spent blow drying I am all for. I’ve tried plenty of hair towels over the years and this is the only one I can say has actually made a difference. I simply plop it on my hair after washing and combing, letting it sit for at least an hour. When I take it off my hair is significantly dryer, soft and I don’t have any drippy ends. This towel has cut my blow-drying time in half and I’m obsessed.”

“Farewell white sneakers. I’m still not totally over you, but I need a break. Enter the new LOML – lululemon’s cityverse in ‘precocious pink’. I love these trainers, they’re so comfortable, so stylish and they go with everything. I have a hectic commute that involves a 30-minute walk to daycare drop off, a train ride and carrying a heavy bag so to have shoes I can leave on from home to end of work day without worrying if I’m serving lewks is a big win.”

“This month I’m absolutely loving my Mermade Blow Dry Brush. I have very thick hair and never look forward to drying it as it takes so long. Plus, I have a natural wave that I like to enhance and using a hair dryer can make it too straight. Until I got the Mermade Blow Brush. Now, I wait until my hair is semi dry and use my Mermade to dry hair in sections – and create movie star waves at the same time. It’s so much quicker and I love the way it looks, particularly the ends. I’m also loving the Mermade Styling Primer, which helps style my hair even faster. I barely use my hairdryer now – the Mermade does it all.”

“I’m such a Dermalogica fan so was excited to try this new serum and it’s safe to say it doesn’t disappoint. A hydrating serum with some serious omph, it works to plump your skin while targeting fine lines. Containing one of my all-time favourite skin ingredients polyglutamic acid, this serum is like a facelift in a bottle when I put it on – overnight it gives me a welcome dose of plumping and hydration that leaves me looking like I’ve had a full eight hours sleep, every time. It’s better than my morning coffee at making me look awake, I tell you!”

“As a rule, I want my skin products to make my skin look like, well, my skin-skin-but-better. So these glow-inducing Ultra Violette Queen Screen Super Glow Drops Illuminating SPF 50 fit the brief perfectly. Boasting a lightweight serum-like consistency, you can mix a little into your foundation for instant illumination. Or, if, like me, you don’t mind a bit of all over glow, you can (sparingly!) apply a drop or two directly to your face after your regular sunscreen for a touch of put-togetherness on days you can’t really be bothered to wear makeup.”

Always read the label and read the directions for use. Avoid prolonged exposure in the sun and wear protective clothing, hats and eyewear when exposed to the sun. Frequent reapplication is required for effective sun protection.

“I am a sucker for a good body moisturiser these days and absolutely love this Nourishing Hand & Body Lotion from KORA Organics. The certified organic skincare brand is owned by supermodel Miranda Kerr and this moisturiser contains a range of natural, skin-loving ingredients like microalgae and noni. It left my skin silky smooth after one use and I love that it doesn’t have a super overpowering scent like some moisturisers.”

“Let’s face it, in this economy, we’re all about affordable beauty and this hydrating hyaluronic acid ticks all the boxes at just under $30. This is actually the first product I’ve tried from British beauty brand No7 and I love the lightweight and fast absorbing consistency. It doesn’t leave your skin feeling sticky and layers so beautifully with a moisturiser over the top. Most importantly, it feels like your skin is drinking a big ol’ glass of water. So hydrating, a must have!”

I had high hopes for these maternity leggings given Lorna Jane’s reputation and I can say they exceeded my expectations. Buttery soft and stretchy while still holding their shape, these leggings are super flattering and hugged me in all the right places. I also like that they’re not obviously maternity (apart from the fact the waistband is wider than most other leggings) as I’ll definitely keep wearing them when I’m post-partum – they’re just so comfy and perfect for walking and pilates.”
