At news.com.au checkout shopping isn’t just our job, it’s our passion.

We can’t get enough of a good sale, plus if we love a product, we won’t stop raving about it.

Here we’ve rounded up all our favourite products we’ve tried and tested lately — our top pick is the Trinny London Lip Gloss, which shopping writer Philippa Tonkin never leaves home without. Plus, the $32 dupe of the Djerf Avenue pyjamas that our editor has been living in.

Here’s everything else the news.com.au checkout team has been loving lately. Happy shopping!

Trinny London Lip Gloss, $30 at Trinny London

“If there is one thing to know about me, it’s that I love a lip gloss. I’m not super big into lipstick and the way it looks on me but give me a sheer gloss and I’m good to go. I’ll also be the first to admit that I (mistakenly) thought of Trinny London as more of a ‘mum brand’. But if this lip gloss is anything to go by, I’m happy to admit I was wrong. This gloss gives the perfect shade of plum/dark berry and looks so nice on. It’s also super buildable so great on a day when you’ve got on barely any makeup but also when you’ve gone full glam too. Unlike other lip glosses, it’s not sticky either so don’t worry about your hair getting stuck to your lips. Plus, not only does it look good but it’s hydrating your lips at the same time. A true multitasker if I ever saw one.” – Philippa Tonkin, Shopping Writer

Benefit Precisely My Eyebrow Pencil, $48 at Myer

“When my Hourglass Brow Pencil fell on the ground and snapped in half, I almost cried. It was the only brow pencil I’d been using for several years, but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise as my new fave is this Benefit Precisely My Eyebrow Pencil. Which isn’t a surprise because Benefit know their brows. This tip is quite fine giving you precise and natural looking lines on your brows. It definitely gives your brows but better! It’s super easy to apply and is very forgiving so I’d say it’s a great everyday brow pencil for when you need to get ready quickly.” – Melody Teh, news.com.au checkout Deputy Editor

“These are hands down the comfiest pants I have ever worn. Made from a super soft lightweight knit blend, these are the type of pants you don’t ever want to take off. Since receiving them I have worn them every single work from home day and I know coming into winter that won’t be changing any time soon. I love the elasticised waistband as well as the wide-leg style for extra comfort. Plus, they’re just chic enough to wear out to the shops and not feel like you’re in trackies. Also as an added bonus, they’re machine washable. Do yourself a favour. You won’t regret it.” – Philippa Tonkin, Shopping Writer

“While in Queensland a little while ago, I tried on this cream denim skirt at Kivari and instantly fell in love. I asked the lovely ladies to hold the item for me while I went for a stroll to ponder the $229 price tag, then waltzed right back on in and purchased the thing. Girl math had spoken once again and after wearing it multiple times per week since purchasing, I’m know for a fact that this gorgeous piece will soon be paying for itself. With a higher split than found on most long denim skirts, this has plenty of room to move and is super comfy. It’s become my go-to piece to elevate any outfit and can be dressed up or down with sneakers or heels. Definitely worth the price tag.” – Jessica Smith, eCommerce Health and Wellness Writer

“This is one of those ‘TikTok made me buy it’ items that proved its worth on my latest international flight. Essentially it’s a bluetooth transmitter that lets you use your wireless headphones with the plane’s entertainment system by popping it into the headphone jack. It was easy to use (just hold the button until it blinks then turn on your headphones for it to connect) and meant I could keep my headphones on whenever I had to get up. It’s one of those gadgets I now won’t fly without.” – Stephanie Yip, eCommerce Travel Writer

“I get very excited about kitchen utensils and this month I was lucky enough to try out the Space Folding Handle Ceramic Non-stick Frying Pans from Joseph Joseph – and I love them! I’ve never been a fan of non-stick frying pans, but now I’m a complete convert. Cooking weekend scrambled eggs or pancakes is like a dream come true, in fact, cooking anything is brilliant. I tried two sizes, one small, perfect for an omelette and a larger size, which is good for cooking just about anything else. Even better, they come with a folding handle that clicks into place – and then folds back over so you can store them in the cupboard. Perfect if, like me, you’re short on kitchen cupboard space. These pans have certainly brightened up weekday dinners – and they’re so sleek and smart, I love looking at them as much as I do cooking with them.” – Susannah Hardy, Parenting Shopping Writer

“Now that the weather has cooled right down, these super cosy and soft socks have been on high rotation while I rot on the couch watching Netflix cuddling up to my cat. I’m a bit picky when it comes to socks – I hate when it’s too tight and digs into your leg but these are honestly the softest socks I’ve ever worn. They are so comfy, highly recommend for winter hibernating! Plus, they were awarded Oprah’s Favourite Things in 2021!” – Melody Teh, news.com.au checkout Deputy Editor

“If you’re like me and have been eyeing the Djerf Avenue pyjamas but couldn’t justify the spend, these pyjamas from Amazon are a pretty good dupe, especially for the price. I’m close to giving birth so have been stocking up on lots of pairs of affordable pyjamas as I’ve been warned you will go through them nearly as much as your baby will go through nappies. Sizing is pretty limited (I’m a size 12 normally and got a large, the biggest size on offer) and the material is polyester, but overall the material girl in me is happy I’ve been able to get the Djerf Avenue look at a fraction of the normal price.” – Hannah Paine, news.com.au checkout Editor

“I hate gel hand sanitisers with a passion as I find that not only do they make your hands feel sticky but they can also dry them out. I love this Ecoya spray hand sanitiser because not only does it come in my favourite candle scent Lotus Flower, but it feels so luxe. My hands never dry out no matter how frequently I use it and I find a bottle lasts ages, making it good value for money.” – Hannah Paine, news.com.au checkout Editor

“At 560 pages, The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue wasn’t the book I was expecting to pull me out of a four-month reading slump. But, I ended up tearing through it in a matter of days.

Taking place across continents and centuries, the story follows a young woman who makes a deal with a sinister entity — only to get more than she bargained for when she’s cursed to be instantly forgotten by everyone she meets. With its complex characters and unique storyline, I absolutely recommend curling up with this one now the nights are turning cold.” – Lauren Chaplin, Consumer Technology Reporter

“I picked this up when I was in America and truly love this product. I was breaking out like crazy on my forehead while overseas and the Tower28 SOS Spray truly helped soothe my skin, lessen the redness and keep it at bay. Formulated with hypochlorous acid which is known for its antibacterial and skin-healing properties, this spray is incredibly hydrating, gentle and has no strong scent at all. I love spritzing this on my face both morning and night before I put on any skincare or make up.” – Harriet Amurao, Shopping Writer
