“I am quite literally obsessed with this brilliant lip liner. Those who know me, know I love to save a penny so when I heard ‘Very Shelley’ was the perfect dupe for Charlotte Tilbury’s viral Pillow Talk liner, I was in. For my skin tone this colour is the perfect nude liner with a touch of pinky/brown. It makes my lips look fuller, more defined and creates the most perfect base for a good nude lippy – although I personally like to just fill in the rest of my lips with the pencil (the colour is THAT good). It’s also only $14 … in case you needed anymore convincing.” – Claudia Coy, Social Media Producer

“I own a lot of sneakers, about 30 pairs if you must know, but out of all of that choice these are the ones I am wearing on repeat. I wear them for walks, errands and even to the office sometimes, although I am yet to run in them. Obviously they’re comfortable, they’re sneakers. But it’s the sleek design I keep going back to them for, they go with pretty much anything – from active wear to (semi) corporate wear, rare for black trainers which are almost always super sporty or fugly (in a bad way). I’m in love. Will probably buy them in white too.” – Kara Byers, Partnerships Editor

We try the Fenty Skin Hydra Vizor Huez SPF 30 Refill.

“This is my new favourite everyday face product that I can just slap on and head out the door. Fenty Beauty’s new Hydra Vizor Huez is a mineral SPF moisturiser with a really beautiful formulation that’s super hydrating and nourishing to the skin. It’s got excellent coverage, just enough for everyday, and works seamlessly with all other beauty products. You may think the price tag is high at $54, but I love that it comes in this handy refill system that will help you save money in the long run, and help the environment too. The shade range may also seem minimal compared to the rest of Fenty Beauty’s line-up – there’s 10 to choose from – but the shades are meant to be super flexible. Here I’m wearing shade 2 which is a perfect match to my spray tan from the weekend, but I may need to swap to shade 1 during the winter time.” – Marina Tatas, Shopping Writer

We try the Owala FreeSip Insulated Stainless Steel Water Bottle.

”Just when I thought I had ditched water bottles with a straw for good, I found myself converting back to one while I was in America – we’re talking about an Owala here. Unlike other bottles I’ve had in the past, the Owala offers the best of both worlds – you can sip through the straw or chug with the FreeSip spout which is great. There’s also no need to touch the straw or push a button for the straw to flip out. It’s super easy to carry around with the handle, it’s leak-proof and genuinely keeps my drinks cold for hours. Not to mention, it’s so easy to clean, has a non-bulky design and it comes in so many cute colourways!” – Harriet Amurao, Shopping Writer

We try the STRAAND Halo Hydrator Calming Hydration Scalp Mask & Applicator.

”I have been on a mission to try and revive my colour-damaged hair, and hair health starts at the scalp. I have been loving this scalp hydrating mask by STRAAND, it’s super easy to apply with the applicator and only needs to be used for 10 minutes to see results. I have been applying this mask the night before hair-wash day and sleeping in it, and I love knowing my roots have had a good drink of water before undergoing shampoo the next morning. This mask is also a great one for summertime if your scalp has seen a little too much sun, as it can be stored in the fridge to provide cool relief for your scalp.” – Jessica Smith, eCommerce Health and Wellness Writer

We try the Alana Maria Figaro Bracelet – Gold.

“I’ve wanted a ‘permanent bracelet’ for a while now and it felt like TikTok was almost mocking me as they continually served video after video of girls getting their jewellery soldered around their wrists. So I booked my appointment at Alana Maria’s Freshwater store and made my dreams a reality. The whole experience is really lovely – you choose which chain you’d like then which (if any) charms you want to add to your forever bracelet. I went for a chunky ‘Figaro’ chain to match the rest of my stack and a simple shell charm because I’m a beach girl at heart. My favourite part is that you don’t have to worry about your jewellery falling off, getting lost in the ocean or taking it off before your daily shower. It’s also just really, really pretty.” – Claudia Coy, Social Media Producer

We try the Bangn Body Lip and Cheek Gloss Balm.

“I am unquietly obsessed with this gloss balm from Bangn Body. Not only does the recently released lip and cheek tint smell like an actual cupcake, it provides the most gorgeous glow. Available in three different colours (or flavours): Choc Caramel, Raspberry Drop and Vanilla Chai, this is a hydrating gloss that plays a great role as the touch up for your lips and cheeks throughout the day. My personal favourite is the Choc Caramel which has cemented its place in my purse as my go-to lip gloss, which also adds some colour and shine to my cheeks (basically a blush and highlighter in one). I am all about a multi-use product for minimal makeup effort, and can highly recommend these gorgeous gloss balms for on the go touchups.” – Jessica Smith, eCommerce Health and Wellness Writer

Tom Lake by Ann Patchett, $16 at Amazon Australia

We love the book Tom Lake by Ann Patchett.

”This month I’m in the middle of absolutely loving ‘Tom Lake’ by Ann Patchett. I love everything by this author, so couldn’t wait to get my hands on this latest release – although I’m a bit late to the ‘Tom Lake’ party thanks to my huge TBR on my bedside table. But I finally picked it up and I can’t put it down. Patchett has such a beautiful style of storytelling that is seemingly simple yet so warm, funny and packed with detailed imagery and human observations. Over a summer of cherry picking, central character, Lara tells her three grown up daughters of the time she worked as an actress and fell in love with the famous Peter Duke, a story they’ve been desperate to hear. As Patchett weaves seamlessly from the present summer heat to the mystery of the past, I’m as enraptured as Lara’s girls, eagerly awaiting to learn more, while relishing words and phrases that strike a cord on so many levels. As a mother of daughters who has worked on the stage it’s ticking all my boxes. But then, I would say the same for anything written by Ann Patchett.” – Susannah Hardy, Parenting Shopping Writer

We try the Swisse Skincare Salicylic Acid Daily Balance Cleansing Gel.

“I have been using this cleanser for nearly three months now and for a beauty product worth just $19.99, it has certainly gone above and beyond. Containing chemical exfoliant salicylic acid, and zinc sulfate, this non-foaming cleanser is powerful enough to get rid of impurities and makeup while also getting in and refining the pores, all without being stripping or drying. I use one to two pumps of this cleanser in the evenings, after removing most of my makeup with The Secret Cleansing Balm, but even when I forget to go in first with my cleansing balm, a double cleanse with this Swisse cleanser does everything I need. I’ve noticed my skin stay so clear and consistent in the past few months, and I am still floored at what great value for money this product is- it’s lasted me nearly three months and counting, for under $20.” – Jessica Smith, eCommerce Health and Wellness Writer

“I was a BIG watch person back in the day – if it was yellow gold, chunky and had a big face then I probably owned it. However I found myself reaching less and less for my watches in the last few years, until I found this beauty from Adidas. While the yellow gold matches all my current jewellery, I love the pop of colour on the green face. It’s sleek, stylish and adds a touch of nostalgia to any outfit. It’s also water resistant and comes with a two year warranty, so you can keep it on high rotation.” – Claudia Coy, Social Media Producer

”My skin gets so dry and dehydrated in winter, so when this little face cream landed on my desk, I was so keen to try. The new Medik8 Total Moisturie Daily Facial Cream is the perfect everyday moisturiser – it’s lightweight enough to use in the morning, but still super nourishing to pack on at night. It’s designed for all skin types and pumped with prebiotic peptides, hyaluronic acid, ceramides and lipids to really help restore your skin barrier – and that’s exactly what this fancy little cream did for me. I’ve gone through the whole tub and I can safely say my skin looks so healthy and balanced.” – Marina Tatas, Shopping Writer

Green Dot by Madeleine Gray, $8 at Amazon Australia

We love the book Green Dot by Madeleine Gray.
We love the book Green Dot by Madeleine Gray.

“I didn’t love this book at first. It took me a chapter or two to get over how privileged its main character, Hera, is – she’s just finished her PhD and, after rinsing academia, has to get a job. “Why would anyone dream about having a job? I felt like the world was trying to trick me. I felt like the butt of a joke I did not understand.”

In getting a job, she starts an affair with her married colleague and becomes ‘the other woman’. Some describe Hera as ‘a gen Z Bridget Jones’. While she is endearingly messy and a little lost, she’s also more real than Bridget.

Gray’s writing is dry and witty, giving Hera a fresh and compelling snark. Her unfiltered commentary and self-examination reflect the sardonic self-reflection of the meme generation. Her brashness contrasts with her internal anxiety, making her relatable and empathetic. Her morals, or lack thereof, can be infuriating, but a moment around 80 per cent into the book, crystal clear in self-awareness and insight, redeems her.

I read this in three nights and stayed up late to finish it. It’s that good and well worth weathering the bratty moaning at the start.” – Kara Byers, Partnerships Editor

Sukin Bond Build Weightless Reconstructor Serum, $12.58 at Amazon Australia

We try the Sukin Bond Build Weightless Reconstructor Serum.

”I’ve been loving this Sukin Weightless Reconstructor Serum as a leave-in conditioner treatment for my hair. My hair has been coloured over the years and has definitely seen its fair share of extreme heat, so I am relentlessly trying to revive my dry and brittle ends. This reconstructor serum is a great one for adding some moisture into the ends of your hair whenever they’re feeling a little dry in between washes. You can also use this as a bond-building treatment prior to washing your hair, and as a reparative serum after a wash. I’ll apply this most days, just a super small amount rubbed through my hands to the ends of my hair after a brush, and find that it makes my hair really smooth and silky even when it might be feeling dry beforehand. I also use this before and after washing my hair and sometimes even in the middle of blow drying it, just to ensure it’s as hydrated as possible. While it’s only been a few weeks of using this serum, I can confidently say I already feel like my ends are looking better and smoother than they were prior to receiving such TLC. “ – Jessica Smith, eCommerce Health and Wellness Writer
