When it comes to setting the table for a dinner party (or even just a night in that you want to feel a bit fancy), no table setting is complete without a good quality set of wine glasses.
But with the options out there feeling almost endless, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by choice when shopping for wine glasses.
Trained chef turned influencer Tori Falzon has 200,000 followers across TikTok and Instagram where she shares recipes, tablescapes and entertaining tips under the handle @intothesauce.
When it came to what wine glass styles were in vogue, Tori told news.com.au that colour and unique shapes are becoming more and more popular.
“Coloured glassware is a really fun trend I’ve seen in the US market from brands like Estelle, and one I’m seeing more of in the Australian market from some of my favourite brands,” she said.
“Coupe glasses are definitely having a moment for sparkling wine which I am so here for.
“Uniquely shaped glassware is also becoming more prevalent, from waved edges to flat cylindrical shapes.”
Prefer to stick to the classics? There’s nothing wrong with that, with plenty of choice from two of Tori’s favourite brands.
“I have a large RIEDEL collection which I love. I’m also a big fan of the Plumm range,” she said.
Read on for our guide to the best wine glasses you can buy right now, from trendy coloured and shaped styles to your classic red, white or champagne glasses.

HOW TO STOP WINE GLASSES FROM BREAKING
“I keep my wine glasses in a high up cupboard (far out of reach of children),” Tori said.
“I always pop them in the dishwasher to clean for the best results and to avoid breakage in the sink, which I’ve experienced way too many times.”
While most glasses you buy these days dishwasher friendly some are still hand wash only, so make sure you check the packaging.
RIEDEL recommends storing glasses in a closed cupboard “away from your stove and oven, to avoid picking up cooking smells, or gathering dust or grime between uses”.
To avoid chips around the rim, store glasses standing up to avoid knocking the edge as you take them in and out of the cupboard.
BEST WAYS TO STYLE WINE GLASSES FOR A DINNER PARTY
“My guests usually arrive and chat around the kitchen and dinner table while standing,” Tori said.
“I’ll typically have white wine glasses on the bench ready to pour while everyone hangs out for dinner, and will set the table with red wine glasses.
“This way it’s less cluttered and more aesthetic to begin with, and anyone who has started with a white or beer can take it to the table when we all sit.
“To style the table with multiple glasses from the start of the night, I’d simply cluster the glasses neatly next to the water glasses.”
