Good things come in threes – and the new eufy Robot Vacuum 3-in-1 E20 might be the trifecta when it comes to cleaning.

Robot vacuums shine when it comes to convenience but often struggle with hard to reach areas that only a stick vacuum or handheld vac can tackle. This new contender packs everything into one complete package, adding a stick vacuum, handheld vacuum and even a Self-Empty Station to its list of accessories. The price tag also swings less of a punch compared to some new robot cleaners on the market, scraping in at just under the $1000 mark.

Since there aren’t many robot vacuums that come with a cordless vac, we were stoked to see this unit pop up on our radar. Check out our review below to see if it really is the total package.

The eufy Robot Vacuum 3-in-1 E20 is a great all-rounder that not only cleans well, but offers flexibility and convenience in a way most other vacuum cleaners can’t … at least for now.

It’s particularly ideal for smaller homes and households hoping to leave most of their daily upkeep to a robot vac, reserving the stick vacuum and handheld unit for touching up tight corners, awkward spots and other areas the rotund gadget can’t squeeze into. There are also manual on-board controls for people who don’t want to use voice commands or the eufy app for everything, as well as a traditional dust bin to help reduce the need to repurchase dust bags as frequently.

The eufy Robot Vacuum 3-in-1 E20 is super easy to set up. It took approximately 10-15 minutes to get everything going, including syncing the robot vacuum to the accompanying app.

• eufy robot with cordless stick vacuum

• Floor brush cleaner head

• Two-in-one combination tool

• Dock Assist Mat

• Power cord and instruction manual.

The eufy Robot Vacuum 3-in-1 E20 packs a lot of versatility in a surprisingly compact package, despite boasting more features than a stand-alone robot vac or stick vac. The space-saving design makes it perfect for households with minimal space, while the lightweight 2.25kg build offers a bit of relief for people living in multistorey homes or who otherwise need to carry the gadget to different parts of the house.

The eufy robot vacuum features three on-board controls, including a start/pause button, suction mode button and a recharge button. You can alternatively control the unit via the eufy Clean app.

It mostly looks like a standard robot vac, aside from the handheld vacuum which takes up the lower half of the unit and can be removed by pressing the big red quick release button. The dusting and crevice tool is also stored neatly at the top of the robot vacuum, which you can quickly pop out. Additionally, there is a compartment at the back of the base station where you can wrap the cord to shorten it and keep it out of the way.

Unfortunately, there isn’t a caddy or dedicated spot for the other accessories like the Ecovacs T30s. For me, this wasn’t a major deal breaker since it didn’t take up that much extra space. I kept the combination tool on top of the base station and leaned the assembled floor brush cleaner and extension tube against the bookshelf.

The eufy robot vacuum did a good job picking up everything, from fine, tiny bits of dog hair to larger crumbs and long strands of hair that have made vacuuming a battle for some appliances. It navigated its way around the home pretty effortlessly straight out of the box, and even managed to sweep up dust and fur in areas that some other robot cleaners have struggled with (or eventually avoided) due to power cords.

One thing to keep in mind is that the battery in the cordless vacuum also powers the robot vacuum, so you won’t be able to use both at the same time.

Long pile rugs still remain the ultimate kryptonite, but short pile alternatives can be vacuumed easily without human assistance. (It’s worth noting I tested the robot on area rugs with non-slip backing.)

eufy Clean app

The accompanying app is quick and easy to set up and offers decent customisation for both the robot vacuum and cordless vacuum, plus handy videos if you’re a visual learner.

Here are some of its top features:

• Can save multiple maps

• Four cleaning modes (ECO, Standard, Turbo and Max)

• Auto-empty settings for robot vacuum and stick vacuum – can adjust frequency and type of dust collection

• Can toggle BoostIQ mode on and off (automatically increases suction power when it detects long-pile carpets)

• Manual controls to determine where the robot cleaner goes

• Child lock.

For me, it worked well for the most part but had trouble registering commands on some rare occasions. However, this wasn’t annoying enough to be a deal breaker. I actually liked the convenience of the on-board controls and found it easier at times.

The cordless vacuum makes this eufy gadget a great all-rounder, making it easy to tackle tight corners, non-floor surfaces like bookshelves and desks, as well as surprise accidents. That’s all without having to fork out extra time and money on another cleaning appliance.

eufy’s stick vacuum and handheld vacuum work well, offering good suction power that picks dirt up well from hard floors and low-pile carpet. Although for stubborn crumbs that embed themselves into the cracks between your tiles or along the edges of the benchtop, you might need to fish it out a little so it’s easier to pick up.

It stands out with an adjustable extension tube, making it perfect for catering to a wide range of heights and reaching deeper under beds.

The eufy vacuum also has a power button instead of a trigger, which is good news for people who tend to get sore and tired hands when doing chores.

However, you’ll need to keep an eye on how full the dustbin gets during the clean. I found that some debris fell out of the stick vac once the dust bin started get quite full. The main floor brush cleaner also experienced some trouble with getting some stubborn dirt along the edges of the wall and benchtop, but you can easily scrape it off the surface so it’s easier to pick up.

EUFY 3-IN-1 E20 SELF-EMPTY STATION

The eufy robot cleaner will automatically trigger Auto Dust Collection once it has finished a task, and when the stick vacuum has been used for more than 10 minutes. Unlike many other models, this appliance reverse parks into the base station to dump out the dirt and will undock and reposition itself when the dust collection is completed. Honestly, it’s pretty cute.

Compared to dust bins and dust bags in other robot vacuums I’ve tested, the duo on this unit seemed on the smaller side. The instruction manual suggests replacing the dust bag every two months (or earlier if needed). But if you have a big home or have an issue with long hair or fur being sprawled everywhere (guilty!), this is worth keeping in mind. Fortunately, the eufy Robot Vacuum 3-in-1 E20 uses the same dust bin for both vacuum types and can be manually emptied similar to any other stick vac.
