Every day I log on to social media and there’s seemingly another bizarre trend fighting its way to the front. From coastal grandma and cottagecore to brat summer and its polar opposite, the clean girl, it’s no wonder we’re finding it harder and harder to keep up.

However, TikTok’s latest trend - underconsumption core - may have arrived just in time.

The trend champions minimalism, encouraging shoppers to buy less and re-wear and restyle the pieces they already have.

If you’re looking to save money in 2025, this trend is definitely one to engage in.

But when it comes to re-wearing clothes, one of the biggest issues people have is getting bored with their outfits.

This is where we step in. I spoke with Nicole Adolphe, Head of Style at The Iconic, who helped me style and restyle outfits for a whole week.

From changing accessories such as a belt and shoes, to adding a jacket or swapping out the top or bottom, re-wearing your clothes has never looked better.

Watch the video in the player above and have a look below for all of her picks including my favourite, the Lover Thea Twist Bust Midi Dress and the unexpected new style I love, the Dazie Style File Denim Jorts.

MONDAY

On Monday, Nicole started the outfit off with just a regular white tee and some denim jorts. To be completely honest, when the jorts were brought out I was a bit nervous. Although they’re back on trend, I’ve been scared to wear them as I had thought they wouldn’t suit me or my body type.

I was very happy to be proven wrong and I loved the fit. As I work from home on Mondays, the outfit was quite casual however Nicole then added a blazer, a belt, ballet flats and a chic handbag which she recommended would work for the office and to go out after work too.

She also suggested I could add some heels to really dress my look up, or completely swap out the top for a sweet butter yellow shirt on the weekends.

Wearing the same T-shirt I donned on Monday, for Tuesday’s outfit Nicole swapped out the jorts for a chic buttercup coloured slip skirt from BWLDR.

Our office isn’t too formal so she paired it some casual adidas Sambas. For when the weather starts to get cooler, she advises you can easily pop on a trench for a transeasonal look.

Plus, you can also wear the skirt with a matching top for after work and weekends.

For Wednesday, we went with a classic all black fit. The core piece was this mini wrap dress from Aere that Nicole paired with the original blazer from Monday’s look to wear to the office. She then simply added some thong heels.

Again, for after work Nicole suggested simply removing the blazer to make the look feel less corporate.

And again to add even more fun and personality to the outfit, we swapped the thong heels for some cowboy boots.

By Thursday, outfit inspiration is normally severely lacking so Nicole went for the super sleep matching set from AERE. Paired with a thong heel again, she also changed up the accessories with a cuff and some Noah The Label earrings to help add a bit of extra flair.

To make the outfit more casual, she swapped the matching pants for jeans and we put the adidas Sambas from Tuesday back on. We also removed the flashier jewellery.

You need to have at least one “nice dress” in your wardrobe and this Lover pick definitely won’t let you down.

Depending on your office, you might be able to get away with it but otherwise post work and the weekends it will be on high rotation.

It cinches in at the waist which I found super flattering for my body type and it’s chic enough to work for a range of ages too.

Wear with flat sandals like those Nicole has styled me in or dress it up with heels.

Alternately, Nicole also paired the dress with a button down shirt if you want to dress it down.
