With the exception of a blazer, there’s no basic more useful than a bomber jacket.

It’s the kind of outerwear that you can pair with anything, from activewear to a glam sequin mini dress and heels on a night out.

Unsurprisingly they’re a must-have for shoppers at THE ICONIC, according to the retailer’s head of style Nicole Adolphe.

“Bomber jackets are popular for both mens and womenswear; they’re such a great unisex piece,” she told news.com.au.

“The classic black bomber with satin fabric, zip, pockets and an elastic waistband is a staple piece that returns season after season.”

Here’s our round-up of the best women’s bomber jackets you can buy, all from the comfort of your home.

WHAT TYPE OF BOMBER JACKET STYLES ARE POPULAR RIGHT NOW?

“A classic black, oversized bomber jacket, or a quilted bomber jacket are trending styles at the moment,” Nicole says.

“I wear the Supre Marnie Satin Bomber Jacket on rotation. However, if you’re after an investment piece I recommend the C&M Camilla and Marc Baltimore Padded Jacket.”

BEST WAYS TO WEAR A BOMBER JACKET

When it comes to ways to wear your bomber jacket the options are pretty much endless.

“I pretty much live in mine,” Nicole said. “It’s the jacket (aside from the blazer) that literally goes with everything.”

Here’s Nicole’s advice on how best to wear your bomber jacket:

For a classic look: “A black or khaki bomber jacket over a black or white T-shirt, worn with jeans and boots is a go-to,” she said.

For daytime: For a cute day look, Nicole recommends: “A bomber jacket worn with a short dress and boots is a key daytime look and is the perfect way to give your summer dress a new look.”

For night time: “For an evening outfit, pair your bomber jacket with your favourite midi-length cocktail dress or cutaway dress,” Nicole says. “This will keep you warm and give your outfit a new silhouette.”

For a streetwear style: “Style a bomber jacket with a crop top and slouchy baggy pants, or jeans and sneakers,” she advises.

For the office: “For a more dressed up work look, style a bomber jacket with a bodysuit and a pleated skirt and heels or boot,” Nicole said.

For a sporty look: “The way to wear a bomber for a sports luxe feel is with a crop top, bike pants, and sneakers,” she said.

“I also like to wear my bomber jacket on my morning walk, with fitness tights and a hoodie styled underneath.”
