If you’ve got dry, dehydrated and stressed out skin, the one ingredient that can make it all go away is hyaluronic acid.

Hyaluronic acid is a powerful humectant, drawing water into the skin.

And this magic ingredient just so happens to be the entire basis of the best-selling skincare range from Japanese beauty brand Hada Labo.

In fact Hada Labo uses a specific type, their very own Super Hyaluronic Acid, combining three types of hyaluronic acid to really hydrate and rebuild your skin’s moisture barrier.

And let me tell you, the proof is in the pudding.

I’ve been testing the entire routine for the past three weeks and I can see a visible difference to my skin’s hydration levels – check out the glow to my skin in the images below!

My top pick? It’s got to be the Hada Labo Lotion No. 1 Super Hydrator – one unit is sold every three seconds in Japan and it’s not hard to see why. It delivers instant results and is so incredibly easy to use and slot into your skincare routine.

Hada Labo Lotion No. 1 Super Hydrator

Why we love it: Immediate results with a water-light texture.

What to consider: The large bottle size may not be travel friendly for all.

Size: 150ml | Formula: Liquid serum/essence | Best for: All skin types

Hada Labo’s most popular product by far is the award-winning Lotion No. 1 Super Hydrator – but don’t be fooled by the name. It’s not a moisturiser, but rather a water-thin toner that also acts as a serum and essence, flooding the skin with moisture.

Suitable for all skin types, the unique Japanese innovation is formulated with three types of hyaluronic acid to penetrate deep into your skin and provide multi-layered hydration.

And I loved how easy it was to slot into my skincare routine.

Can you believe the Hada Labo Lotion No. 1 Super Hydrator sells every 3 seconds in Japan?
Can you believe the Hada Labo Lotion No. 1 Super Hydrator sells every 3 seconds in Japan?

I’ve been using it morning and night, after cleansing and before the rest of my serums and moisturiser. I rub one pump between the palms of my hands and then gently pat into my face and neck. It absorbs almost instantly and the lightweight texture ensures it doesn’t interfere with the rest of your products.

The effects are almost immediate – my skin instantly looks more hydrated and I love it!

And can you believe one of these units are sold every three seconds in Japan? This is a testament to how easy it is to use and deliver real results in record time.

Hada Labo Intense Hydrating Skin-Plumping Gel

Why we love it: Provides lasting hydration and is great for all skin types.

What to consider: Some users may not like the gel texture.

Size: 50ml | Formula: Gel moisturiser | Best for: All skin types

Tried and Tested by Marina Tatas, news.com.au Senior Shopping Writer

I’ve never tried a moisturiser like this one before, and I have to say, it’s my new obsession. Think of it a hybrid between a moisturiser and serum – the gel-like texture sits so beautifully on the skin, and under makeup. It gives me an instant glow and I seriously love it!

I’ve been using it every morning for the past few weeks and I have to say, I’m super impressed with the formula.

The texture of the Hada Labo Intense Hydrating Skin-Plumping Gel gives you bouncy skin.
The texture of the Hada Labo Intense Hydrating Skin-Plumping Gel gives you bouncy skin.

It’s packed with the Hada Labo’s signature Super Hyaluronic Acid and this works hard to hydrate the skin and make it look super plump and bouncy.

The added green tea extract also helps to provide the skin with antioxidants to reduce inflammation to the skin.

It’s not the sort of moisturiser that provides hydration for five minutes and then your face starts to feel dry again. I find that my skin still looks glowy and hydrated at the end of the day too.

It’s also fragrance free and suitable for sensitive skin.

What to consider: Takes time to use it everyday – but nice for once in a while.

Size: 20ml | Formula: Sheet mask | Best for: All skin types

Designed to replace your traditional serum, Hada Labo’s sheet mask is another popular pick from the range – it’s actually one of Priceline’s bestsellers – and it’s easy to see why.

Each mask is infused with an entire bottle of serum, supercharged with the brand’s innovative Super Hyaluronic Acid formula.

It’s recommended to leave it on for about 15 minutes, so that’s exactly what I did, and I was seriously impressed.

The Hada Labo Moisturising Facial Sheet Mask is so hydrating and soothing – for just $6.

Why we love it: It’s an innovative formula at an affordable price point.

What to consider: Honestly could not fault this one.

Size: 150ml | Formula: Cream to foaming | Best for: All skin types

Tried and Tested by Marina Tatas, news.com.au Senior Shopping Writer

It’s hard for a cleanser to impress me but I was pleasantly surprised by this one from Hada Labo, and it’s all down to the formula.

The Gentle Hydrating Cleanser sits between a cream and foaming hybrid – it comes out of the packaging like a cream but once you rub it between your hands and add some water, it foams up so nicely. I find that it makes my skin feel so clean while ensuring it doesn’t dry it out.

I love the hybrid formula of the Hada Labo Gentle Hydrating Cleanser.
I love the hybrid formula of the Hada Labo Gentle Hydrating Cleanser.

You guessed it – just like the rest of the range, the cleanser is formulated with the iconic Super Hyaluronic Acid, offering three forms of hyaluronic acid to intensely hydrate the skin.

This is the first step to get bouncy skin, and it certainly delivers!
