Not only is she an internet sensation (324k+ followers on Instagram) but she’s also a Cosmetic Doctor, Cosmetic Chemist, pioneer in the field of Aesthetic Medicine and the owner of award-winning skincare brand Dr Naomi.
So it’s fair to say Dr Naomi knows a thing or two about which products we should be putting on our face.
Starting as a cosmetic medical blogger in 2011, Sydney-based Dr Naomi is known for her brightening products (The Power vitamin C Serum is seriously good, trust me), her anti-ageing moisturiser (Plump Fiction) and of course her blurring eye cream (Catfish).
Having tried all three products myself, I’ve been a Dr Naomi superfan for close to a year now. So when she invited me to her ‘Formulations Masterclass’ this week and offered a peek inside exactly how her products were made, I was there … with bells on.
During the master class we got a first-hand experience into what it means to be a cosmetic chemist and just how finicky the entire process can be - leave the heat on for a second too long and you’ve ruined your serum, add in 0.5mL too much of a certain ingredient and your moisturiser is ruined, forever.
However, the best part of the class was the one-on-one chat I had with the doctor herself, where I was able to pick her brain on beauty advice, best practice for skincare routines and beauty hack’s that she’s picked up during her 25+ year career.
