With more than 300 million streams, 3.2 million singles sold and over a million followers online (including 274k on Instagram and 567k on TikTok), Havana Brown has carved out her place on the global stage.
You probably know her from her breakout hit ‘We Run the Night’ with Pitbull, a track that went triple platinum in Australia and topped the Billboard dance charts in the US. Since then she’s dropped club anthems like ‘Big Banana’ and ‘Warrior’, and shared the stage with megastars including Rihanna, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars and The Pussycat Dolls.
And while she’s best known for commanding festival crowds, one of the strangest fan moments still stands out: “A fan once handed me a USB mid-set asking me to play his song immediately. Points for boldness!” she laughs. Offstage, she keeps it low-key: “I like to watch some TV and debrief with my partner.”
This month she’s back on home turf, performing at STARFEST – The Star Sydney’s free month-long 30th birthday celebration – with one of her trademark high-energy sets. “I love the energy of a packed Sydney crowd – there’s always such a great vibe in the city, and I can’t wait to share new music with everyone,” she told news.com.au checkout.
We sat down with Havana to talk all things beauty and skincare, the surprisingly cheap product she swears by, and the throwback anthem that still gives her goosebumps (Savage Garden’s ‘To the Moon & Back’).
