Trinny Woodall first hit our screens back in the early 2000s as a makeover expert in hit TV show What Not To Wear. And while she’s still “very good friends” with her former co-host Susannah Constantine, Trinny admits there are some elements of the show she’d never do again.
“We would say ‘we want to put a secret camera in your bedroom’ to the husband who'd nominated his wife for the show and we’d have it [the camera] where she would get changed. So the editors would go through reams of footage to find what we wanted. It’s like, oh, never would you do that today!”
But that’s not the only secret the media personality, author and founder of beauty empire Trinny London spilt during our ‘in bed with’ interview. During her recent trip to Australia, she revealed the reason she loves hanging out with Aussie women.
“I love women who graft. I think as a nationality, there’s a work ethic in Australia that’s really strong.”
From her must-have skincare products to her most unsexy beauty hack, plus the surprising thing you’d find in her bathroom, here Trinny reveals all.
WHAT’S THE WEIRDEST THING WE’D FIND IN YOUR BATHROOM?
“It’s called a Theragun. When I travel, I need to do some exercise without doing exercise. It’s a massage gun, but I just put it everywhere and it’s fantastic. So it’s for areas of your body where you most feel the need of a release.”

“The big step people forget is exfoliation, to take off the dead skin.”
Tiptoe In PHA Exfoliant, $68 at Trinny London

JAG Sara Linen Midi Dress in Blue, $180 at Myer
WHAT PRODUCTS ARE IN YOUR MAKEUP BAG?
“My every day skin perfector to help make me look well and a tiny bit glowy. It gives me this really soft, gentle glow, but also a tiny bit of coverage and SPF.”
BFF SPF 30 Cream Skin Perfector, $78 at Trinny London
“If I’m in a real rush I’ll do Trinity. So I’ll put the bronzer on my eye, my lip and my cheek. And then the other side is a clear sheen and I’ll put that in the corner of my eye and on top of my cheekbones.”
Trinity LIP + CHEEK + EYE (New York), $68 at Trinny London
WHAT’S YOUR BEST UNSEXY BEAUTY HACK?
“So I arrived (in Australia) and I was a bit puffy faced, so I always get into a hotel room and get a big bucket of ice, I put my head in it and it just brings your face back to life.”
Stainless Steel Champagne Ice Bucket, $45.20 at Amazon
WHAT ARE YOUR CARRY-ON ESSENTIALS?
“I do a really thick lip treatment.”
