Marcellin College students have been accused of misogyny, bragging about being rapists and passing around nude photos of girls.
The students who catch the Hurstbridge line train are dubbed “Marseholes” by students from schools in Ivanhoe, Heidelberg, Greensborough and Eltham.
One female student said she regularly saw Marcellin students “passing around photos of nude females and discussing who’s hot and who’s not”.
“They are shaming the girls, some of whom they went out with. That’s how they got the photos,” she said.
“They also take photos and videos of their female teachers and talk about them in sexualised ways.
“They are making other people super uncomfortable. Even if you don’t do anything, they are still watching you and looking at you and making comments.”
It comes after year 9 soccer players from Marcellin were filmed using misogynist references on the sidelines and urging each other to “use your hands” against girls’ teams.
The school was contacted for comment.
The Herald Sun has also spoken to parents who contacted the school about the behaviour of male students on the Eltham train line in 2021.
They said their daughters have “been witness to and at times the subject of verbal abuse, foul derogatory language, sexual harassment and intimidating behaviour by Marcellin boys”.
Quotes captured on video in 2021 include boys on the train saying, “I told her to go suck a p---y”, “I hit women and I’m proud of it”, “I was raping girls” and “I was touching them and raping them” and “Your sister’s a slut”.
The boys also threw rubbish around carriages and blocked entry and exit points to stop others getting on and off.
“Packs of boys deliberately corral individual female students into the bay of seats so they have difficulty exiting for their stop and often have to climb over the boy’s legs to get out,” the girls’ parents said.
“The boys will often raise their legs up the girl’s dress when they try to climb over. While corralled, the group of boys will make inappropriate comments about the girl’s appearance and make sexual gestures towards her.
“When their behaviour is challenged by other travellers, the boys are unremorseful and show no respect to them.”
The female student said that particular group of boys “had now calmed down” after being disciplined by the school.
“But now younger boys are doing the same thing. Now it’s the year nines and even some from year seven and eight,” she said.
“The principal will say it’s not in the school culture, but everyone who goes to school in the area knows they are a problem.”
She said the situation was so bad some girls avoided getting on the train.
