‘Junk’: Harvard to offer course on Taylor Swift in 2024

The lowest cut-off scores for more than 1600 courses can be revealed, with some institutions taking students with ATARs as low as 40.

A number of courses are designated N/P, or not published, because they do not use the ATAR in selection.

Others are L/N, which stands for low number, as less than five offers are issued so the selection score is not published to protect the privacy of applicants.

It comes as more than 40,000 year 12 students have found out if they have secured entry to their dream course, as the first round of university and TAFE offers are released.

La Trobe University has courses attracting both the lowest and highest ATARs in the state.

The highest is dental science (honours), physiotherapy (honours) and psychology (honours) at La Trobe University in Bendigo, which all have a minimum (and maximum) ATAR cut-off of 99.95.

Students must have achieved a perfect score of 99.95 in order to study music at the University of Melbourne’s Southbank campus.

Other courses needing more than 99 as a minimum ATAR include the scholars biomedicine program, veterinary science, commerce/law, arts/law and science/law at the University of Melbourne.

There are 88 courses with minimum ATARs in the 90s and 50 courses with minimum cut-off scores of less than 50.

The lower-cut-off courses include a diploma of rural health at La Trobe University in Albury/Wodonga, an elite sport business diploma at Carlton College of Sport, which is also located at La Trobe University and an associate degree in paralegal studies at RMIT.

Students who missed out on a first-round offer will have plenty of options for further study in Victoria, including further entrance rounds, alternative entrance pathways and Free TAFE courses.
