A man is facing a long list of driving charges after last week’s incident in which a car sped through Bourke St.

Bryce O’Donnell, 20, was charged on Thursday night by police investigating the January 28 incident.

His arrest in Ballarat on Thursday afternoon came hours after police released details of an arrest warrant for Mr O’Donnell in relation to his alleged driving of the Mitsubishi Lancer at the centre of the drama.

He is due to front the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Friday on charges including reckless conduct endangering life, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, fail to stop on police request, reckless exposure of a police officer to risk by driving and committing an offence while on bail.

Police said they were not looking for anyone else as part of their investigation.

A passenger jumped from the car and ran into the CBD.

The vehicle then allegedly evaded police and travelled north on Swanston Street before turning down Bourke Street Mall, driving along the tram tracks and crashing into a bollard.

The vehicle, a green Mitsubishi Lancer, was later found in Albert Park without number plates.
