A dispute between rival bikie gangs is believed to be behind a shooting outside a clubhouse in Melbourne’s southeast.
Security footage has captured the moment a gunman opened fire on two undercover police officers outside an Outlaws clubhouse.
Moments earlier another gunman had fired shots at the building.
Police from the Armed Crime Squad are investigating whether the feared Comanchero outlaw motorcycle gang was involved in the initial drive-by shooting.
Two detectives from the State Anti-Gangs Division were in an unmarked car that had shots fired at it as they drove past the clubhouse in Carrum Downs about 7.45pm on September 27 last year.
The officers were in the area at the time and heard the initial gunshots from Titan Drive, prompting them to attend, before they were also shot at. No one was hurt in either shooting..
Detective Senior Sergeant Tim Hayward said Outlaws bikies were not co-operating with police.
“It is only luck that a number of people were not injured or killed,” he said.
“There are a number of people who are being unco-operative, so we are after any information about the people who may have used those vehicles or been involved in the firearms incident.”
The detectives shot at were in the area investigating activity related to outlaw motorcycle gangs.
CCTV footage from the scene was on Monday released by police. It shows several people standing on the street outside the clubhouse before the area is lit up by gunfire.
The people run away before two cars — a dark-coloured Audi Q7 four-wheel-drive and a silver VW Golf — are seen driving off.

The day after the shooting, an Audi Q7 was dumped and set on fire in a laneway on Hallam Valley Rd in Dandenong South. Detectives said it was thought to be the same Audi Q7 used in the initial shooting at the Outlaws clubhouse.
It had been stolen from an address in the western suburbs earlier in September 2019.
