Two teenagers were choked by a sex attacker after meeting a man on a dating website.
Sexual crimes squad detectives have today arrested a man as part of their investigation into the incidents which happened as far back as 2018 but were only recently reported.
The first incident happened on October 25, 2018, when a 19-year-old woman matched with a man on a dating application.
They met for dinner at Drouin before the man allegedly drove to an isolated spot and committed a sexual assault.
On March 24 this year, a second woman, aged 18, matched with a man on the same dating app.
She was with friends in a share house at Burwood and invited the man to the property but he followed her into a room and sexually assaulted her.
Both women told investigators they were choked and unable to breathe before being forced onto their stomachs.
Police said that man is described as aged in his early 20s, caucasian, of slim build, softly spoken and had “a demeaning attitude towards women”.
His dating profile states he is a computer science student and advises that “feds and narcs swipe left.”
Detectives from the Sexual Crimes Squad today arrested a 25-year-old man from Berwick as part of their inquiry.
It is believed the incidents are linked.
“The investigation remains ongoing and police are continuing to look at any possible links to other matters,” a spokeswoman said.
