The salon was boarded up at the time following another attack weeks earlier.

In late October, as COVID-19 restrictions were eased and beauty salons allowed to reopen, the salon was targeted in a smash-and-grab.

A photo published by the Lash Boutique Bar shows shattered glass and beauty items scattered outside the shopfront.

“Just as we could re-open, our world came crumbling down,” the salon posted on Facebook on October 31.

“We came in this morning and noticed we had been robbed, and this has not only put a financial strain on the business but even more so our mental health.

“Working again gave us purpose and hope, we are so heartbroken and are in the process of getting everything fixed, but we may need to reschedule Monday’s clients until we can repair the damages and stolen goods.”

Ms Bonett, 29, told the Herald Sun said she was shattered by the incidents.

“It pretty awful but I can’t do anything about it unfortunately,” she said.

Ms Bonett went viral in September after filming herself being dragged from her car by a police officer at a checkpoint in Kalkallo.

The footage showed the officer climb into her car to undo her seatbelt and pull her from the front seat after she refused to provide him with her name and address because she felt unsafe.

“Can you get out of the car please?” the officer said.

“No, I don’t feel safe – you’re attempting to get into my vehicle,” Ms Bonett said.

She then began screaming, “What are you doing?” as the officer opened the car door and leant over her and tried to remove her from the vehicle.

Police alleged Ms Bonett refused to supply her details or produce her driver’s license and was warned that she could be arrested for not complying with the request.

However she claimed she didn’t feel safe to get out of her car and had her driver’s license in her hand as the officer called in backup and the viral incident unfolded.

Ms Bonett was later charged on summons for failing to produce her license and name and address, resisting arrest assaulting police and offensive language.

Victoria Police confirmed Whittlesea detectives were investigating a burglary and criminal damage.
