Inmate hospitalised with serious injuries after Barwon prison assault
A Barwon prison inmate is being treated for serious injuries at a Melbourne hospital after being assaulted by a fellow prisoner on Friday.

A prisoner has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after an assault at Barwon prison.
Police and emergency services were called to the maximum security prison in Lara just before 12.50pm.
A Victoria Police spokesman said: “A 26-year-old man has been taken to a Melbourne hospital with serious injuries.
“Investigators have been told a male prisoner was assaulted by another prisoner.”
Police said they have identified all prisoners involved in the violence and the investigation is ongoing.
