Woman’s body found under Kings Way overpass as Melbourne wraps up New Year celebrations

Police have swarmed the Kings Way overpass in South Melbourne after a woman’s body was found in the early hours of New Year’s Day.

Police are investigating the death of a woman under the Kings Way overpass in the early hours of New Year’s Day.

The woman, believed to be in her 20s, was found dead about 4.30am near the corner of Moray St and City Rd.

The Herald Sun understands the woman’s body was found next to a red car.

Investigators declared the car park a crime scene, spending the early hours of the New Year combing the area for evidence.

The woman’s cause of death is yet to be determined, and it was unclear on Sunday morning whether there were any suspicious circumstances involved.
