Woman fighting for life after suspected family stabbing in Melbourne’s north-west

A woman and man in their 60s have suffered stab wounds in an attack at an Attwood home, understood to have been perpetrated by someone related to the pair.

A woman is fighting for life in hospital following a suspected family stabbing attack in Attwood.

A man, 29, was arrested by police in the early hours of Wednesday morning at a Harricks Crescent home after paramedics responded to reports an older man, 67, and a woman, 62, had suffered stab wounds at about 4:30am.

The woman was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries, while the man is also being treated for minor wounds.

It is understood the younger man is related to the pair suspected of being stabbed.

Police were on Wednesday still piecing together how the violent scenes unfolded.
