A woman was on bail at the time she allegedly went on a stabbing frenzy in Melbourne’s CBD, a court has heard.

Rhiannon Dunn, 28, from Morwell, was arrested after allegedly stabbing a man at the intersection of Flinders and Downie streets about 5pm on Thursday.

A short time later, police allege she stabbed a woman near the corner of Flinders and Spencer streets.

The stabbings allegedly occurred during a series of armed robberies.

The pair, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries, were taken by ambulance to hospital and small drops of blood could be seen on the floor of the intersection’s 7-Eleven store.

Ms Dunn has been charged with 16 offences: six counts each of attempted armed robbery and committing an indictable offence on bail, as well as three counts of recklessly causing injury and a single count of intentionally causing injury.

As her case was called in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Friday, her lawyer Tass Antos asked for the administrative hearing to go ahead in her absence.

“She’s not in a position to present herself to the court,” Mr Antos said.

He asked that his client be seen by a custody nurse “to ensure her wellbeing in custody” because she is at risk of self-harm.

He also said she was withdrawing from methylamphetamine and cannabis.

“She suffers from schizophrenia, bipolar and borderline personality disorder,” Mr Antos said, outlining the medications she is prescribed.

The court heard the prosecution would apply to revoke Ms Dunn’s bail at the next court appearance, but no further details were given as to what she was on bail for.

Her case was adjourned to December 5.
