Two police officers are facing false imprisonment charges over an alleged incident that unfolded while the pair were on duty last year.
A 41-year-old male senior constable and a 39-year-old female leading senior constable from the state’s west have each been charged over the matter and are expected to front court at a later date.
The pair were charged following an internal investigation by Victoria Police’s Professional Standards Command into an incident that took place in January last year.
The exact circumstances surrounding the alleged incident, including the location at which it allegedly occurred or what took place, are not yet known.
A Victoria Police spokesperson said they were likely to appear at a magistrate’s court.
It is unclear at which magistrate’s court the officers will appear.
More to come.
