Victim left cowering on the ground, helpless and screaming in horror gang attack
Four teenagers have been arrested and charged following an alleged attack on a defenceless 14-year-old girl with autism.

Police have arrested three girls in relation to the alleged attack of a defenceless 14-year-old girl at Altona Pier.
Hobsons Bay Crime Investigation Unit detectives detained an 18-year-old woman from Flemington and two 14-year-olds in relation to the incident that occurred at about 4:30pm on February 28.
The 18-year-old woman was charged with affray, intentionally cause injury, recklessly cause injury and assault by kicking, but was bailed to appear in court again at a later date.
A 14-year-old girl from Point Cook was charged with affray intentionally cause injury, recklessly cause injury and assault by kicking and will face a children’s court at a later date.
A 14-year-old girl from Kings Park and a 14-year-old girl from St Albans were released pending summons for affray, intentionally cause injury, recklessly cause injury and assault by kicking.
Footage taken during the horrific attack on the 14-year-old girl, showed her being set upon by the gang and punched more than 50 times.
For several minutes she is brutally punched, kicked, dragged by her hair and had an energy drink poured over her.
Throughout the unprovoked attack the victim is cowering on the ground, helpless and screaming.
In a cruel twist the incident was filmed and the video sent to the girl’s older sister.
The victim’s mother told 9News that her daughter was left bruised and battered by the alleged attack, and was now fearful of leaving home.
“The paramedic counted how many times my daughter has had a blow to the head and it was over 55,” she said.
“They thought it was funny. She could have been killed.”
“My daughter won’t even go back to school now.”
A man nearby eventually intervened, which stopped the attack and the year 9 student was taken to hospital where she stayed overnight.
Hobsons Bay Crime Investigation Unit detectives are now investigating the matter.
“Officers were told a 14-year-old girl and her friends were approached by five girls at a pier near the Esplanade and Pier Street about 4.30pm,” a police statement said,
“It is understood the group assaulted the girl before an unknown male intervened in the altercation.
