Vic woman’s wild police chase through Sydney

A Victorian woman has been charged after leading police on a destructive chase through more than a dozen Sydney suburbs, with eight cars damaged along the way.

A Victorian woman has led police on a 100km destructive chase across Sydney, allegedly ploughing into at least eight vehicles along the way.

The 30-year-old woman refused to pull over when she was allegedly caught speeding on the Hume Hwy at Pheasants Nest about 10.30am on New Year’s Day.

Police tailed the woman’s grey Mazda3 for about 10km before calling off the chase due to safety concerns, instead tracking the car by air.

The car continued was spotted making its way through Sydney’s southwestern suburbs of Campbelltown and Casula before turning on to the Cumberland Hwy to Liverpool, Cabramatta, Fairfield West, Smithfield and Merrylands.

The driver then made her way through Wentworthville and Toongabbie where police allege the hatchback struck at least three vehicles, including a police car.

The hatchback eventually came to a stop in Northmead just before 12pm, after the driver allegedly ploughed into a further five vehicles.

The woman was arrested at the scene and was later charged with a slew of offences, including speeding, drive recklessly, police pursuit not stop.

She has been refused bail and will appear at Paramatta Local Court on January 2.

A police officer was injured his hand during the arrest but no other injuries have been reported.
