Teen charged over fatal stabbing of Jason Langhans in Tooradin

A teenager has been charged with murder over the death of 17-year-old Jason Langhans, who died after being stabbed at a party in Tooradin.

Homicide detectives have charged a teenager following the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Jason Langhans.

Langhans was allegedly stabbed in the head by gatecrashers at a party in Tooradin, south of Melbourne, and died in hospital from his injuries.

He was allegedly viciously assaulted about 2.30am on March 21 by an unknown offender while at the party and was rushed to hospital and placed in intensive care.

Jason Langhans died after he was stabbed at a Tooradin party.

Jason Langhan’s family said it was a relief charges had been laid.

The popular Cranbourne North teenager underwent three surgeries but he suffered permanent damage to his frontal lobe as a result of the attack and also suffered from a stroke more than two weeks later on April 6.

His family made the heart-wrenching decision to turn off his life support.

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with one count of murder.

He will face a children’s court on Wednesday afternoon.

Two other males were spoken to by police and released without charge.

Speaking to the Herald Sun, his family said it was a relief charges had been laid.

“We are so glad this person has been caught,” sister Stacey Langhans said.

“It doesn’t change anything though. We don’t have Jason with us. We are fighting for Justice for Jason.”

Ms Langhans said the past few months since her brother was fatally assaulted had been difficult.

“It has been hard,” she said.

“There hasn’t been a day where we haven’t spoken or thought about Jason. It’s been the hardest thing of my life.”
