A teenager was arrested after he allegedly stabbed another school student at their northern suburbs high school on Tuesday.
The alleged violence erupted at Reservoir High School on Tuesday morning about 10.50am.
The male student, understood to be in Year 9, was injured at the Plenty Road campus and was taken to the Royal Children’s Hospital in a stable condition with upper body injuries.
“A boy was arrested and is currently assisting police with their inquiries,” a police spokeswoman said.
“The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be determined.
“There is no ongoing threat to the community.”
A receptionist from the school declined to comment.
A Department of Education spokesman confirmed police were investigating the incident.
“The school took appropriate action in response to the incident,” he said.
“While investigations are underway, it would be inappropriate to comment further.”
The Herald Sun understands the 15-year-old student who was stabbed is expected to make a full recovery.
