The Sin City strip club in Dandenong has been set alight in a suspected firebombing.

Police are investigating what they say is a suspicious blaze at the Langhorne St venue at 8.45pm Monday.

No one was inside the club at the time.

A worker at Sin City declined to comment because the matter was under police investigation.

Sin City was closed down in 2019 after a magistrate found it had contravened the Sex Work Act.

That related to a Victoria Police investigation into allegations it was operating as a “sex service provider.”

Authorities cancelled its liquor licence and management decided to close the venue as a result.

Sin City has previously been linked to the Comanchero outlaw motorcycle gang.

In 2018, the business was searched in an operation by the Echo Taskforce, the national anti-gang squad and the Australian Federal Police, which targeted the bikie gang’s business interest.

The Nitro gym at Hallam was firebombed 12 days before the Sin City blaze.

Nitro had previously been owned by Comanchero boss Mick Murray and has in the past been the subjects of police raids and drive-by shootings.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and have urged anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or crimestoppersvic.com.au.
